Honeywell got it right!

Of course, now I know how much I NEED those blue alphas from Round 5a. My SPH isn't enough!

I got red alphas against my will. But I am very excited now.

Good move. But what about white mods?
Madhias wrote: Those caps are truly gorgeous. I did not think that those SA caps are that nice, I love that vintage touch! What is also nice, that MX switches feel I think much more "mature", but I only tried browns and blacks so far.

Unfortunately I did not have time to to play with color combinations, and also some other keyboards have to be outfitted with Round 5 caps. First of all I go with a white set and a red RETURN.

Image

I *love* the somewhat wonky caps, like the Ä, Ü and also the differences of line widths. For example the 3 is much thinner than the 4, but that's great!

Image

The font type in general is perfect, and fits to the SA profile. Vintage as its best!

Madhias try green switches when you can!

Repeat after me, I don't need a red JRET, I don't need a red JRET...

Nice Pics :)

Crap. What's the deadline to pay for Round 5a?

I missed Round 5 and desperately want to order a set thanks to this thread. I had the funds, but then the Massdrop Realforce happened last night.

Do I need to pay in full for any of Round 5a before the end of the month?

Dunno. Post in 7bit's thread. We are simple keycap pornographers here.

By the way: gotta admit that 100% PBT Realforce or Round 5a is a nice dilemma to have! Find a way…

I saw the massdrop on the realforce... so tempting, but for us in the UK you just loose a load more on custom's and it starts to become not worth it.

Thanks, I posted there. I'm going to try and do both. Round 4 is actually one of the reasons mech keyboards caught my eye.

Now stop posting your pics in this thread. It's borderline NSFW...

The next keyboard I outfitted is the 60% - where I really have to change the PCB sometimes, and also get a plate. I don't really like the naked look with that short height of the case.

The black caps are great, unfortunately I do not have 1,5 modifiers. Where's the trading thread?

The legends are truly s-u-p-e-r sharp! One of the best features of double shots like these. Crisp letters, high contrast, perfect.

Great pictures, Madhais. The gray bottom row doesn't look bad and the lotus caps are stunners. :-)

The mono numrow is hardcore! I pondered that kit but couldn't squeeze it inside budget. But I do have some different tricks of my own to play up there…

I've got literally ALL the 1.5 mods in every colour. (Look at the various TENKLESS kits to see what I mean.) Currently using none! We can work something out. Especially if you happen to have a white or red numpad numeric set… it takes having Round 5 to know just how much of Round 5 you still missed! It's beyond huge.

You are right, the kit was very expensive! I wanted to get it, because of ANSI keyboards which I use at work with Windows and Mac OS, and sometimes also other OSs, but mainly the first two. Not all characters are on the same position, and this is an elegant solution! I am not man enough to go with blank caps... and I love printed / double shotted legends too much as to go without them!
Muirium wrote: (Look at the various TENKLESS kits to see what I mean.)
I have the white and grey big sets, but not the black or red one. For black and red I only have the small TKL sets, with 1,25 modifiers.

Sweet. I still think Round 5's whites are the most magnificent of all. Let's see if my alternate take on mono works as well as your number row. Guess I could do worse than to model it on a NovaTouch as well!

But not today, night has fell…

Wow, blue and black is nice too! That green and red on the right fits. What case and keyboard is that? A Ducky (maybe since the caps are stated being from Ducky...)?

Gah, that row 1 Escape is the one that gives it all away: the mono legend set is flat row 3. That doesn't work too bad on this little board, but for the lack of Escape.

I also decked out the NovaTouches with something new. But the light gave out for all the heavy rain. My camera's not up to that level of pure dark. And I don't have a good strobe setup like yours! It'll wait.

Cheers guys! I've got nothing on your spaceship lab and shiny 60% monos though, incredibly good and damn pretty pics.

edit: the black 'n' blue board is a Ducky Legend, with stock silver coloured top plate. I really like SA on it, imo all that doesn't work with them is the backlighting!

Nevertheless... Here's the MX 8200 from December 2013, now for real - just missing one key, thanks to TKLISOBASE being swapped for STD125ISO/BASE.

Maybe a missing key gives an authentic "found relic" appearance... until you start inspecting the legends.

Sweet when your old man gets you Round 5! But if I were him, I'd be nagging about those 1u mods down on the right there… who could settle for that?!?

Clearly! I only got rubberdomes for a long time too (even for myself) but then my old man fished out an IBM XT from his garage and started my collection.
