Actually I prefer the cream on grey better than the white on khaki for the modifier. The Khaki is a too strong contrast to the brown. But that's just, like, my opinion man.

But even though the keyboards I want to use this set on are winkeyless, I absolutely love the idea of commodore keys instead of windows keys.

We could try to add a 4th set with the mods in a second color (grey or khaki). If we don't reach a good tier we could always remove it.

The keys are swappable (DSA FTW!), you can use the C= key as ESC or wherever you want.

Sounds great! Thanks by the way for investing the time, and listening to the people before starting this too hastily! I feel like this is getting better and better. I just hope that we reach enough people to make this rather affordable. Apparently I'll need every package. I need as many keys as possible…

I like that yellow too.
Yes, you are right, we might add some blank 1u keys as well.

Actually... I don't know how much this is gonna sell... I'd love to reach the 75 tier, but it's hard. It's a very weird set, not for everyone.

I love the commodore keys instead of winkeys too, maybe sell them as singles out of the set and charge a set amount. Not everyone wants full sets on geekhack but the singles could help for the custom molds.

Last effort for the day.

The followings are the possible colors for the mods showed together with the base brown. The legends will be white (or off-white/cream for both). They all look FANTASTIC! Very hard to choose.

I don't think ouch, coffee and mustard look pretty good. They all do really, and smurf made me laugh.

yes they do look good together... but I wouldn't try to put mustard in your coffee :)

Unless its for a co-worker you hate. I have seen spiked with chilli sauce....

your design is close to something else I've wanted to see.

I like it too. So we would stick with the C64 analogy. Anyway, I believe the group buy will start this Friday with a mods color chosen randomly by a dunk monkey. Hold your breath.

Stick with c64, classic deserves to be done.

Wonder what c64 grey instead of white on the brown and mustard on plum mods would look like. Maybe unicorn vomit. But they don't seem terrible alongside each other.

mustard on plum definitely looks good!

I don't think mustard and grey would look good together mind.

Can you do a mockup of the original c64 with grey? then an optional plum mustard mod pack? Do they look okay?

pics help:)

don't get it, sorry. The original color scheme is still there. We are discussing mods now.

As much as the mint and smurf look nice, having all the mods in either of those colours would take the set it too far from the original C64 retro theme. In fact if we follow that through, the plum should also be discounted... but I like the plum, and the tan, and the grey. Too much choice!

I am in for a TKL+modder set.
I like the cream on grey option best for the mods. I am tired of bright white, it looks too clinical.

esc coffee and plum
modifiers best C64 match or coffee mustard.

too much choice leads to indecision.
analysis paralysis someone ?

Coffee and Plum is the best match IMHO, but if we want to stick with c64 I gotta take the grey one, the mustard creates too much contrast probably.

Choices?

okay this is the idea:

kit 1 to 3: all cream on coffee
kit 4 (retro style): function row, coffee on mustard OR white on mustard
kit 5 (elegance): standard SP modifiers, white on plum

tomorrow I'll make some tests. If we don't reach a decent tier the kit is waived.

How about a Euro-Kit as the one from 7bit? Maybe some people would be interested, even if not high tiers will be reached?

does SP have standard legends for all these keys?

Posted: 30 Jan 2013, 00:30

Ah, youre right. Most probably not, as this profile wasnt used within R4.

Posted: 30 Jan 2013, 00:43

I'm totally in for a full ISO kit, but if SP doesn't have legends we are pretty much screwed.
