After 30 years of becoming used to cylindricals (gag), SA definitely felt unusual. But I stuck with it and I won't type on anything else now (well, except for DSA on smaller boards).

It was more the aesthetic to be honest, I prefer Cherry profile above all else to type on, and SA I don't mind typing on, really I don't mind typing on any profile at all. However aesthetically the SA profile is too much for me. It just feels big and bold, and I prefer the more subdued look of a lower profile.

Mashby used to do updates to let people know their payments were received and processed. I guess the amount doesn't have to be included.

It adds accountability to the paypal collectors. We know they're receiving payment and passing it along if they announce payments coming in.

I don't see how it creates anything other than a lot of noise. Collectors should be treated as reliable until somebody complains that they have paid but their 7bot invoice still shows otherwise.

Again, I'm only doing what was done in the past and I vaguely remember 7bit asking in his explanation of what a collector does, to provide updates on occasion. No one has complained thus far (at least no one who has made a payment to me), and in fact one person sent me a PM thanking me for verifying their payment.

Well, I imagine this is going to be a long process given the slow rate at which payments are trickling in. There's really nothing to do but wait until we collectively reach the necessary total, at which point our funds will likely be consolidated with one collector and the money will be paid directly to Signature Plastics. 7bit will let us know when that time comes; I'm sure he is watching our totals like a hawk.

In the mean time, we collectors could certainly post when payments are received (and confirmed) if that would put folks here at ease. But I would refrain from putting the amounts in public posts, simply as a privacy courtesy.

What is the consensus here? Does everyone want to see payment confirmation posts, separate from the updated invoices they will/should be receiving from the 7bot?

Currently, all I'm watching is 7bot-TV showing me lists of what to pack next.

7bit seems to be doing a lot of packing but little actual shipping (yet). I have not received a tracking number either, and my order was listed as packed over a week ago. I will consider myself fortunate to receive mine some time in January.

Agreed. Dollar amount is not needed. Members with concerns over payment amounts can send PMs for clarification, if need be.

My Space Cadet keycaps will have pride of place in my collection. When they arrive, I hope to have three different keyboards as candidate vessels: a RealForce RGB board with silencing rings (that I will have painted white), a white Filco Majestouch-2 with MX pinks, and a white Varmilo VA018M with MX pinks.

At the moment I have the RealForce RGB board in hand, but it hasn't been painted or silenced yet, the white Filco is on order, and the white Varmilo I hope will become available soon (it's the lack of MX pinks that are holding things up there).

I can just feel that elusive endgame approaching...
