1980 IBM 3101 print ad. I absolutely loved reading this. And those prices! I guess I shouldn't grouse about how I can't afford a nice beamspring keyboard.

A bit on the expensive side, but MX blue switches and NIB after all:

And so portable, too! (Given that it weighs a mere 38 pounds).

These profile shots with the console always make me wonder what determined the height/pitch of these beamsprings. They are all a little different from line to line, but always line up with the console beautifully. Bit of a "chicken and the egg" event (which came first and controlled the height of the other)

That's right, and you can be sure IBM had designers trying to "make the best" of the situation. It somehow looks good though, makes me want to build my next PC in a similar format.

Looks like a nice specimen. And the space bar isn't overly yellowed. I'd say it's a good value for anyone in the market for damped cream Alps.

The board (in the photo at least) looks to be in very good condition, very minimal yellowing. Fair price, especially if the other boards are in similar condition.

Yeah, these SGIs are sought after mostly for the key caps, the Cream Damped switches are alright. I got one for the caps and then another for the board itself; unfortunately it is rather yellow green.

Nice... open a thread in the Workshop area and speak in some detail about how you got it working. It would be good to hear your experiences in regards to runtime between charges, etc. Again... fun to see

D'oh, there's a workshop area on this forum? Heh, ain't been in here in a bit... I'll look into that, good suggestion.
The Bluetooth module is a real amp fiend. The controller will eat up around 32mA during normal operation and 28mA in idle, so a 1000mAh battery will last about 32h. The controller will go to sleep after 5 minutes consuming only a fraction of a mA when no USB cable is connected and USB mode is selected. If the device is sent to sleep every time it's not in use for a longer period of time, a full charge could last a good week, possibly even longer than that.

10K mAh USB batteries are pretty cheap, and 360 hours of full use would be insane. It'd add a fair bit of weight of course, but then it IS a Model M.

Realforce 101 (ML0100) for 11000 JPY (~100 EUR) -- the single photo doesn't instil much confidence, although the description suggests it's in excellent condition.

Here is a compaq enhanced keyboard, which apparently has been marinating in a toilet for the past 30 years

Now if anyone is familiar with Taobao there also an AT&T model M clone on there. Though it seems massively overpriced.

Proper soldering station for you british (and nearby) folk:

Pace stations are pretty uncommon across the pond, especially at that price.
