You should have offered in DT. You save ebay/paypal fees, which means that you can sell it at approx +20%
It's not really my listing. My response was a (not so) thinly veiled lesson.
I'm sure hKing wouldn't take money out of the sellers wallet in the literal sense. However, if he convinces others not to bid and the auction ends at a lower amount than it would have otherwise, that's effectively what he's done.
It's also not considerate to other members of DT. We're being asked to place our desires to bid on and win this keyboard below those of hKing.
But those points are only consequential to the moral of the story. The moral is that your posts were futile and only made you seem naive. Why would someone go against their own interest to help a stranger if doing so means hurting another stranger in the proportionate amount?

i§, I don't think that he unterstands this. If someone is saying that helping others in getting an item is "futile" and "naive", I don't think that this person has any sense of what a community is about.
This paritcular keyboard is from my year of birth and ISO DE, my preferred layout.
I am not saying that others aren't allowed to bid on this (I can't control this anyway). It would be just nice for me to maybe save some €. If this goes crazy, that's how it should be then ...

Don't worry I have no interest in this particular keyboard.
It might seem like a colossal dick move as a first post but all I wanted to point out is that posting something to actually reduce the attention is never gonna work in a community like this.
If you wanna raise some attention, get help, help other people or spread something nice you might be successful but not so much when you like people to not focus on what you're posting.

Don't be mad at a stranger whose intentions you didn't get at first sight. Better be mad at yourself. But I guess that's what you're doing right now anyway. Good luck with that keyboard though.

I regret the offensive tone of the last paragraph. In fact, I wish I'd left it out completely along with both posts in their entirety.

It's a slightly better than average deal, imo. Most of the issues should be fixable during a bolt mod. The original box and whatnot makes up the rest of the value.

Yeap, probably epoxy, and if it has bonded to the membrane or the rubber mat there is real risk of damage when taken apart for a proper bolt mod.

Wow, someone had a pretty bad idea and went with it... Imo, anyone knowledgeable enough in Model Ms should immediately realize that pouring glue into the keyboard, while, perhaps, an effective short term solution, isn't very good in the long run as it renders the keyboard non-repairable. $250 for an FSSK case? A tad on the expensive side, box or not.

Epoxying used to be the very common quick way of fixing broken rivets. Done properly it can last. Done improperly it can screw up your keyboard something fierce.

Seems very lame to me. I would consider this keyboard seriously damaged, and would expect a commensurate price discount.
I have done enough bolt-mods now that I take it in stride as "just something that you do" although it is still a fussy nuisance job that takes a minimum of a couple of hours in total. If that epoxy seeped in under the surface through capillary action, it would probably force you to rip the internal sheets in order to get it apart.
At least he had the decency to post a picture of what he had done, to warn serious buyers away.
