Nah, I'm looking for a middle ground here. Something similar to both, but kind of different. Perhaps......English! j/k

By pedantic, I mean that you will get called out for the slightest of transgressions. And I don't mean it in a negative way. For example, there is a region in my country which is officially bilingual, and whose two languages have different keyboard layouts. However, I highly doubt that there is a two-keyboards-per-workstation policy instituted there. I might be wrong, though. Keep in mind, I'm not saying that that is how it should be, I'm just saying how it probably is.

Again, I see nothing "pedantic" in people wanting to use their own language.
Or what would you suggest? Giving up French for Dutch, or rather Dutch for French?
Depends on whether you want to sound like a porn actor or someone with a terrible throat infection :p .

I wouldn't say he sounds like a porn actor:
Nor would I say that she sounds like a porn actress:
On the other hand, of course, the Dutch have nice pills to combat their chronic throat infection:

To get back on-topic, kinda, as this will get more visibility here. Does anyone in US need an old-style M-122 case, with long legs? Might come in handy if you got F-122 case in bad shape. It's yours for the price of shipping from WV.

ProMicro controllers come with micro USB. A teensy with miniUSB is 3x the price.

I am irritated by the paint job, why only the upper shell? That looks horrible ...

Not to defend weird paint jobs, but as for MicroUSB versus MiniUSB I'm solidly on the micro side. Mini USB is a terrible design, flimsy and wears out/bends/breaks easily. Also it was deprecated in 2007.
Mini USB needs to just be forgotten.

Would you prefer standard USB Type A jacks? I suppose on larger boards like that, Type A would be feasible.

I am having more trouble with microUSB ports. Very hard to tell which way around the plug goes in when looking at that tiny port. Also much more friction based on the quality of the cable and the port.

My personal preference is miniUSB, I can see at first glance which way around the port is oriented and inserting/removing the plug usually works much better than with microUSB. I never really looked into the technical specs of either USB port but my experience with them as a user clearly makes me favour miniUSB where there's enough room.

The only real advantage I see is USB-C ports but it will be a long time before it makes sense to put them on very basic devices like keyboards.

No, they just want to experiment on themselves, which should always be allowed 8-) .

Never deny a moron a chance to kill themselves because it will always help in reducing numbers to procreate for the future. A very sound piece of Logic here that should be practiced daily.

Oh don't get me wrong I would never deny them, there are "natural" substances that have their place and then there are synthetic ones that are way over the top...

This appears to have Marquardt switches or some other large footprint MX mount switch:

This has Cherries, but the doubleshots appear thicker and differently molded. Some font differences:

A good trio -- XT, Omnikey, Supertouch:

Looks very much like Marquardt 6180.

Ooh yeah, definitely interesting, that. If they are Cherries, the logo is definitely different from what it is now. Man, if the shipping wasn't a fortune on that I might've gone for it xD .

Ooh, very nice, and the OmniKey looks like it's pretty clean too, or at least almost completely unyellowed!

Interesting trebling. I guess the seller couldn't be bothered to offer them one at a time.

I've often seen Northgate Omnikey 101 boards whose keycaps are very white. I wonder if the plastic formulation was different from that used in other keyboards of the same era? Perhaps a lack of brominated flame retardants?

Nah, they yellow just like everything else. I'm guessing that the people who owned them were the equivalent of modern nerds; the keyboards rarely saw the light of day.

Very expensive G84 SPAUS (dyesub model) http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHERRY-G84-4101 ... 2632156375

I usually only see the laser or pad printed models, but on taobao these models go for much cheaper...then again TaoBao and Cherry keyboards are not exactly a match made in heaven. Really wish there was a best offer option.
