This seems like a sweet deal for some monterey blues!

If I wasn't the leading bidder for another board I would totally buy that!

I haven't kept track, but this seller has moved many SSKs in the last couple of months... Wonder how many they have. I asked about any extra casings, they replied saying they had one non-functional but complete unit. Made an (admittedly low, but the thing
was dead) offer and never heard back.

Heh. Too bad. Would have made a nice case for FSSK :/

this seller has 2 Ultra's priced at $90 BIN. Offers are enabled as well.

I wish I had infinite money - so many things I want to spend my keyboard allowance on this month, haha. Also thanks for the reminder, Chyros. The ebay listing I posted for the smk blues has the big-L enter, though! =)

By the way, there's no way those white color switch blockers on the market, only the black ones exist.

I just placed my order
It's quite rare for a decent deal to come up in Canada for switches like this. I so rarely get to save this much on shipping, so I went for it! Can't wait to try SMK Blues.
EDIT: Just to clarify - I bought the used Chicony KB5181 on Ebay. the NIB trackball was a little too much for me, especially after shipping and possible levies/taxes at the border.

Was rewatching Chyros' old review on the apple IIc amber alps board before bed, then checked ebay listing one more time for fun...

it's almost spooky..

Yeah, they appear from time to time. But, be careful, they can come with blue alps

Oh I didn't find one randomly, I traded mine for a G80-3000 with doubleshots iirc. I always end up trading those for Alps keyboards for some reason xD .
Also, really expensive, but what a board!

By the way, if they ARE blue Alps, they'll be the branded ones. Super rare, very late-make - even have short white switchplates.
This board should make someone really happy either way ^^ .

SIIG Minitouch with Monterey Blues

I'd consider kittening this one but I don't need another. Looks like a great example, though.

Well I'm probably gonna get sniped but I placed a bid, still on my quest to get one board of every single Alps flavour!

Oh my G..... that is a beauty! The shipping kills it for me, but were that in the EU, I'd be meowing for it (and blowing a SIIG shaped hole in my 2016 keyboard budget)

He has dozens of SSK's on stand-by and is selling them one by one.
He's a friend of mine, drop him an email on his personal email address and he'll likely do you a deal

There are sources in mainland China with large amounts of stock too. However, they don't look too decently treated in recent years.

The thing worrying me is that it seems like he's been auctioning the same boards over and over. See
his sales history:
IBM 1392934 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 01-14-92
IBM 1391472 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 12-02-92 ('A' listed first time)
IBM 1392934 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 08-05-92
IBM 1397681 Model M PS/2 Space Saver Clicky Keyboard 11-18-92
IBM 1392934 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 09-17-91 ('B' listed first time)
IBM 1392934 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 09-17-91 (B again)
IBM 1392934 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 09-17-91 (B again)
IBM 1391472 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 12-02-92 (A again)
IBM 1391472 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 12-02-92 (A again)
IBM 1392934 Model M Space Saver PS/2 Clicky Keyboard 09-17-91 (B again)
Either he's just really lazy and reuses the descriptions, dates and pictures; or he happens to have a stash of boards all built on very few dates (?); or he hasn't sold as many different SSK as his sales history would indicate at first glance.
If he's a friend of yours I'm sure there's a good explanation, I'd just like to know what it is.

I'm not sure why all of a sudden there are unique boards showing up in Canada now, but why must they come up just before the holidays when I can't afford them?? Any thoughts on this Sanyo MBC-555 with Fujitsu Leaf Springs? The top plastic case looks cracked near the space bar, but apart from that it doesn't look terrible for the price. Has anyone gotten these to work on modern pc's?

Makes me wonder how they got there. I doubt there was an extraordinary demand for them in China back in the 80s and early 90s.

IBM had a big factory in Toronto that churned out beamsprings. In fact, it's a half-hour drive from where I currently live. I blame the current prime minister, Justin Trudeau, for banishing the keyboard business elsewhere!

I had NO idea! I also live in Toronto. If you ever come across any of those beamspring boards for sale, please let me know.
EDIT: I just remembered that I used to work for TD Bank in a rented part of that large IBM Office Park at Victoria Park and Steeles - is that near where it was? Kinda just seems like that was office space. They still have a large office there...

Last month, I just sold the two that I have

Still hunting for more, though. Signing up to parts suppliers inventory listings for a hefty fee for a single month, to see if I have an luck.
