The company on the logo looks like one from another cherry board I had. OG DCS too - I'd bet it has mx blacks.

I looked up the number on the back, and yes, it should be MX Blacks.

Thanks for the info, gnmar2723 & atere! I'm getting better at figuring out switches based on keycaps! =D

That board does have ITW/Cortron magnetic valve switches. The keycaps are a giveaway, and I can see the zoomed in photos - maybe the seller updated it or added more photos? The back label is also identical (apart from the manufacturer name) to the one on my Zenith SWA4300 with these switches. It was even built within 2 weeks of my Zenith in 1989...pretty safe bet.
Seems like a ton of Northgates just flooded into Ebay, and there are currently THREE blue alps boards on the market. What a time to be alive and a keyboard enthusiast! LOL. Here's a board I almost just bought, but thankfully I checked the back label photo and decided not to. Thought it was a Canon branded Acer KB-101a, but it's a 6311...probably white Alps.

I almost bought that too! I was going to put the brown alps in that one, hahaha. I would have if I would have known it was white alps, I was assuming it was the acer switch, which don't have the same pinout (I think) as alps.

It could have the Acer switch too as far as I know. Best not to follow just my advice and ask the buyer to pull a cap haha.

Yes, it is MX Black. I have one of these.
That Canon-branded Acer board is definitely Acer switch.

Seattle area, chekcing in.
If only I had room for a 5150. Guess we'll find out if he's willing to part with just the keyboard.

Just got one of these in the mail:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/132137168251
WYSE make, date on the board looks to be '92, 2-3 big-label Black switches on it, they all feel quite nice and the thing came wrapped in plastic, looks quite new though the bumpers on the bottom look a little worn (might just be pure age).
I think I'll be lubing and tuning them for my M-65

How are these things fetching $1000? I know the old logo ones are rarer, but aren't these still some of the most mass produced Alps keyboards around? I really don't see why anybody would pay more than like $150 for one of these and that's if they REALLY badly wanted the caps..

Looks like the winner was screwed up by the competitor/troller.

I've been blamed for inflating the prices of AT101 keyboards, but surely I can't be blamed for THIS

.
I've got an old-logo Alps-made Dell AT101, maybe I should throw that board to the wolves :p .

Seriously! I'd still take this K2AX any day of the week, and it's pocket change compared to what that rather common board sold for! I would steal them new ANSI PBT caps though and pop em on the Monterey lol.

Fuck me you could get an army of orange ALPS AEK1s for that that blow the dell out of the water

Ok, so I've found a new project:
1. Get cardboard box, or just buy plain AT101W NIB for $40 or so.
2. Replace Dell logo.
3. Desolder black switches, solder in Salmon Alps.
4. Recreate rear label.
Profit!

OR
Take all the tactile leaves out of a black alps dell.
Get a sticker with "Engineering sample" on it and stick it on the back.
Profit.
