Can the max attachment size be increased to about 1MB? I was going to post in the workshop area but max attachment size is 256 KiB, some of my pictures are larger size.

I am missing the use of Ctrl-I and Ctrl-B for inserting italics and bold tags in the editor. I find them very convenient, when around.

use the middle mouse button (if you have it) to open any link you want in a new tab

Anyway, I second the proposal of having links always opening in a new tab.

- Is there a "auto subscribe to threads I posted in" option yet? Cant find it...
- The forums frame only fills like 50% of my 16:9 and 16:10 screens horizontal resolution, why?
- You should work on the URL tag (tag on text/images -> text/images with hyperlink) more user friendly!

We have some of those suggestions on our todo list, problem is those are not supported by phpBB, meaning we have to patch the software, and find the time to do so.

There's a forum spy in development here:
http://deskthority.net/spy.php
It is not entirely finished yet, and I need to test cross-browser, etc., but some might find it useful already.

In general if you're *NIX sys admin or a LAMP developer or a web designer or a front end html/css developer and want to help out, you're more than welcome. If you're interested, PM me and I'll add you to the development group, so you can view tickets.

I'm a Web Developer, I code in PHP, HTML/CSS/Javascript mainly. This is my real job also.
I'm just not a graphic designer. I'm glad to help :)

The forum spy is now live, link in the navbar at the top right of the page. I still have a bunch on my todo list, such as updating the unread topic status when you read a topic, and some more options. Expect things to change/improve.

Reading several google translated posts, I had an idea that might or might not help with this...

adding a subsection to the international discussions forum titled:

Requests for Translation

the purpose would be to allow people whose native language is not english and are limited to their native language to make a post nicely asking for the help of another forum member to help translate something they want to post.
Im pretty sure we have enough people here that would be willing to help out. I know for a fact we have chinese, german, french, dutch, australian (hahaha), and possibly a korean member fluent in english that might or might not have the time to help others out. It would definitely help make some post clearer, since I for one dont speak google.

Sounds like a good idea.

I'm busy with providing translations of the interface for guests, I'll try to incorporate your idea when I'm done with that.

This version is strangely mesmerizing:

I added some more language choices, although this is still in development (need to address some untranslated bits). I'll add even more later. The interface language options are now also available for guests under a locale flag in the upper right corner of the page. You don't see this when logged in, find the language options in User Control Panel -> Board preferences instead.

I can't seem to be able to find the humble HOME button, forcing me to navigate to the forum root by actually retyping/truncating the url back to "http://deskthority.net/" ... yeah, as a noob here I actually like to see what the forum offers, surf through it and read things of interest, I always find it easier to start from the top and work my way through the hierarchy.

Is there a better way to go back to top, ie: a lazy way which lets me mindlessly stay on the mouse? Is this a deliberate feature designed to force people to use their keyboard when navigating this keyboard worshipping site?
