My Ducky One now finally with a complete set of custom caps (thanks to Wodan for trading me a nice HADapter set

). Nothing special compared to the other stuff here, but this is my first set so I'm very happy with it

That combo sounds extremely interesting to me!

Oh my, the best keycap I have. I kiss the cap when putting it out of the plastic bag, put it for a short time on the keyboard, and then back in the bag.

Nice caps.
Why didn't you paint the top right corner as well?

by zslane
I decided not to paint over the RealForce logo or the LED lights, and so I just masked off the corner panel, which is a different (piece of) plastic than the rest of the case.

How did you prepare the case? Or what was your process to paint the case?

A little bit of sanding first, to remove any "protective" coating from the factory (I probably didn't sand it enough in retrospect). Then many, many coats of VHT satin white vinyl dye. With a week of curing after each of two separate passes at it. That was it.

Ah OK, sounds like an interesting project!

Ah, now I see. I didn't realize that area was a different plastic. Looks glossy on the pics I found O_o.
What's the finish of your paint? Is it smooth, or does it have some structure?
(This is "I'm zslane and I painted my keyboard. Ask me anything" isn't it?)

Well, the spray can calls it "satin white", but it is a matte finish. Very smooth, but not glossy in any way.

A linear user.
Impressive all clear build:
Gateron clear (?), clear acrylic plate, and clear case.
You are probably planning to also install clear / transparent caps on it.
Does Nerd60 comes with underglow built-in?

UV purple Leds? And are the 1u blue mod keys from bluegaloo?

by hypkx
Linear cherry switches (or clones) are my favorites.
Zelio housings with gateron clear stems, 45g springs.
I would install clear keycaps on it, but there are no clear keycaps with iso german layout

. NerD60 I soldered self uv smd leds on it.
No bluegaloo mods, TA GMK mods with TA typewriter alphas and yes uv leds.

How do people with even more boards rotate them all the time :D?
I can't even decide wether I like the 55g Reds (beige) or 67g Zealio better (Dolch), or should go for something new. Damn choice of MX switches.

Totally random according to my mood. I do have certain keyboards that I prefer for longer writing tasks.

This is my latest WIP: A handwired WhiteFox made from the leftover parts matt3o sold a while ago. It features Gateron Housings with Aristotle stems (Thanks Wodan!) and 65g or 67g springs (can't remember right now). The Aristotle stems are so loose that some keycaps fall off, when I turn the board around, but that's an easy fix. Some stems also get stuck, so I need to change the top housing on one or two switches.
I'm still considering whether I should get my own plate cut with split spacebar support or if I should just go with the existing one.
It's still missing the hand-wiring, a Teensy and Costar stabs, noth of which I still need to order somewhere.
If you're wondering about the three Win keys: To my surprise the Electric Bluegaloo set doesn't have 1u bottom row keys apart from the ones on the board.

Btw, I'm really considering getting a Infinity style bent plate/case made for this layout, no PCB for now since I don't know how to design one, but handwiring is fine for me, as you can see above.

The plate would then look like this

It would get cheaper if I order multiple, would someone be interested in one? As a rough estimate a single one would cost about 50-70€. Maybe I should post this in the layout thread or even a small extra thread...

Oh wow these TA Blue Dyesubs gotta be the most underrated switches known to man!
How are the aritzelatoigatzealioterons switches?

They feel awesome, very clicky, crisp and tactile. Can't say anything about actually typing on them as for now I only made some "dry" typing attempts.
The only problem is that with some top housings and stem combinations the tolerances of both collide, which results in sticky switches, but I have enough housings left to deal with that.
