Actually they're all slightly different in part numbers and other features. For example, the two with oval black logo on the left bottom, one is an older part number with the letters IBM raised on the logo, and the other is newer with slightly different controller board and such and a flat IBM sticker. I once set out to get all the different part numbers (except international) for, ehm, important research... I probably got most of the major ones but IBM has proved to be endless of course.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but it looks like the legend are blue instead of black... could this be a KBD-2812?

It's only the Brits and some no name countries on the West Coast of Europe, who might have the misfortune of using it, hence why bother ;) ?

Get with the mainstream bud, it's US ANSI or it's nothing :D .

Just the way IBM had wanted....

The G81-3000 OG Cherry dye sub with Cyrillic font is back on eBay
https://www.ebay.com.my/itm/NIB-CHERRY- ... 1438.l2649

I am curious whether it is dye-sub for the legends at the side. I think the front legends are dye-sub and the sides looks like the same. I am not very sure.

Someone bought this before? Can verify?

Just got this Videowriter. Based on the period size and a few other typographical indicators, I think it is the Alps version.

... for $32 shipped.

Could you please let me know when you've confirmed it's the brown ALPS so I can use the eBay photo for reference? I once got an RD one for about the same cost... :( Thanks!

That one is worth getting for the caps alone for someone in Germany :-)

This is unsubstantiated speculation, but I think that the keyboards were released in the following order:

1) Videowriter logo only
2) Videowriter + Magnavox (it doesn't make sense that they would remove branding, it makes sense to add it)
3) I'm not sure where the Videowriter + model number (250, 350) fits into that

So I think that all Videowriter only keyboards have Brown Alps. Could be right, could be wrong.

That may be right but doesn't mean that Videowrite + Magnavox boards wont have brown alps.

That's true. I didn't specify that I think the transition happened during that case style. Not all of them would be Mitsumis.

Cherry MY board, US layout with built-in trackpoint - weirdest thing. Maybe someone wants it to mod the trackpoint into an MX board...
