The previous black square logo industrial model M in Germany was sold for less than $200. It was missing back label though.

My desire for one has decreased significantly since getting one of the Unicomp NOS industrial cases (sorry, covers). It's not quite as good as an original, but the parts inside are effectively identical, and it has the right esthetics.

$500+ for a 5251 is far from "lucky." Also that board was first posted on this site for $900+ before the seller went the eBay route.
There was one that sold for $75 just the other day, though - luck level: maximum.

You can save a search in eBay and get notifications for them... But as //gainsborough mentioned, some luck is required.

Those notifications are not real-time. Extreme luck is required as deals like this can go in less than a minute. One time I did a eBay search before bed and nothing good came up. I immediately hit the search button seconds after the first search and holy smokes a beamer shows up for a steal. When this came up I wasted no time reading or looking at all the pictures. I consider it extreme luck, especially since at the time I had dsl which was not reliable.

IK love how the down arrow is NOT the key that's on the lower point, too xD .
If I hadn't just spent basically all my spending money and shipping was not $100 I'd have picked that up xD .
