Alps-mount sure, but not typical Alps. It's Alps plate spring which don't feel much different than regular IBM buckling springs. Back when Orihalcon wanted a bunch, I proxied for him and they honestly weren't anything special. I've seen similar boards for between $50-100 in Japan so there's no way this is worth the amount they are asking.
Really? Wow, I'd say they were wuite different from IBM BS, and very nice switches, actually =o .

Yeah. I would disagree with that characterization too.

Like Black Alps, it is all around "meh" in my opinion.

Pine alps is alright so buckle down and relax.
If the choice was between blue alps and pine blacks, the blackies will always win hands down

Here is the EU-Version of that with (my guess) SKCM White Damped, because of the datecode. Looks a bit yellowed though ...

I love that color scheme. Unfortunate that I don't live in the EU though.

Well, this one isn't really made to be shipped around the EU, it screams for local pickup, especially on such a webpage. I hope some vintage PC collector can grab it and restore it

That's the apple hairpin spring version. not the sought after amber alps version.

AAhhhh the Blue Alps effect, doesn't matter if they're sitting in a festering sewage pipe, someone will pay the price.
I blame Chyros for this disjointed madness, because you have too
.
Love the keys, so shiny and worn, you can see your own face in them as you type

This keyboard may need professional cleaning or minor repairs as some keys registered intermittently.
In other words, it is broken too.

Though the zero feedback and weird user name can give pause...

They're cool switches, if you want to try out what happens when Alps go completely bonkers, those are the ones to try. Please bear in mind these switches are extremely unreliable and it's not unthinkable that a third of the board won't work at all, though.

I really would like to try them out but it's too bad they have a nonstandard connector so you can't put them a different alps chassis. If that wasn't the case I would buy this board in a heartbeat.

Anything can be converted given the time.

Somewhere out there, a fantastic soul is working on the conversion of the IBM Multistation to USB!

I hope they are the reed switches as expected but I'm a bit concerned by the paper that's displayed with the keyboard:

According to the wiki GRI KBM switches may be equivalent to Futaba MD series:

Let us know what you find Vewy_nice!
They're the shitty ones, unfortunately...
Fortunately, though, the cross mount on the keycaps is SKCC compatible, so I might do some weird SKCC custom-plate hand-wire nonsense. (I've got like 4 apple ]['s not doing much)
It's literally the worst keyboard I've ever typed on. And I forgot my mech at home today, and I'm typing on a gross dirty dome board, so that's saying something.
I'm going to try slathering the sliders in lube. They're SO gritty. It MIGHT help a little.
It does feel really good, PHYSICALLY. It's nice and hefty, and the case is awesome! The keycaps are practically solid plastic. The stem doesn't protrude up into the cap at all.
And I'd be more than happy to photocopy the paperwork for whoever needs it!
I don't regret it, it'll make a fun project
