It's definitely foam and foil. Someone at the vintage computer forums has restored one recently. I have a similar Apricot PC but no keyboard or mouse. I am guessing the seller is in Europe? I would have been interested. It's a nice computer. the keyboard should stay with it.

This Industrial Model F XT keyboard is getting some early bidding already.

Thanks for clearing that up! The seller is in the city I live in, I'm considering dropping by to have a look. It's been on my watch list for about a month now and still no signs of him getting it sold.

Well, I am. With those prices, I can't even afford to dream of getting a beamer... :?

Beautiful board, shame it's not buckling spring. Probably best for my wallet though.

It's a Model F but not buckling springs?
If not, I guess you could use the case on a buckling springs XT.

You can't, it's a completely different structure than a BS XT.

It's nothing but a showpiece collectible.

I've only ever seen one BS XT industrial:

http://clickykeyboards.com/product/ibm- ... 83-key-xt/

I honestly question the origin. It looks like a standard repainted to me, because I would have expect a black square badge on an industrial keyboard made in that timeframe.

It's legit. I've seen them before and almost got suckered in thinking they were buckling spring myself. There's a DT wiki page for it if you are wondering more about the model.

I know. Reread what I wrote there and a few comments up.

I'm talking about the BS XT Industrial I linked.

Ah, sorry about that. The link didn't come up for me initially.

Edit: It's working now! :-)

I'm new to having DT on Tapatalk and am having a hard time adjusting to it.

The keyboard is real with that badge. Definitely not buckling spring. I have one and created the wiki page for it.

I'm familiar with the Oak switch industrial. Is my link to clickykeyboards not showing up on some platforms? The have a BS XT that is painted as an industrial.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I haven't seen one like this. Without a model number visible on the outside, one never knows if it's painted or not.

Can a normal buckling springs XT assembly fit inside the case?

I do think the high prices are a temporary bubble. When Ellipse starts shipping the Model F reproductions and hype photos/video start rolling out in the community, there will be a cheaper comparable substitute good for consumers. IMO the price bubble will burst as the demand curve shifts to the left. The new equilibrium price will be higher than it was in previous years but not as high as the current trending price.
