BTW, this is the keyboard which had been stolen by Gilgam!

I was actually thinking about that, to use only icon style legend for the nav keys as default. So those pg keys, the diagonal left up arrow for home, down arrow with line (like on the tab key) for end, left arrow with line for insert, and the x in the boxed arrow icon for delete.
Sound good?

It does, what about Ins and Del to go with them? rather than the full word?

This is the first time I really like the Keycap Picture Insert Mode of urxvt…
For Insert there is this symbol:
⎀
And for Delete it puts out this:
⌦
Of course then there is
⌫ for Backspace.
Interesting is the symbol for Control:
⎈
And the ISO Escape Symbol some of us already know through qwerkeys:
⎋.
But instead of ⌦ for delete I would prefer using the same symbol IBM uses on terminal keyboards. A

Here is my suggestion :
Let's tell those Craut-keycap makers how many Deutch-mark we are willing to pay !
So far : They are all talk !
They claim they can make original Cherry-caps ?
WHERE THE FUCK CAN I BUY THEM ??

Reread lysol's post.

Hm, I don't see homogeneity.
Are there legends for this?
Quick mock up in Paint.

My guess would be:
Zoom in to see the symbols…
By the way, these are the realy symbols for these keys, as they were defined by the ISO when creating the standard layout for keyboards.
Edit: For your small MS Paint sketch I raise you a small Inkscape sketch:

What is wrong with you guys ??
We are having problems even meeting 'The Crauts' so-called 'minimum order' and You want weird arrows ??
How about we focus on something REALISTIC ?
Like : Forget about ANSI ?

I vote for the ISO-Symbols nav-cluster as so nicely illustrated by RC-1140!

Yeah, basically what RC-1140 put, but the Cherry version of those legends are a little different. Yes there is legends exist for those, there are some on the 2551 (but for some different things I think) and the pg and home keys are standard on French, and home is same on Italian... the delete icon can be found on some very old model but its facing left.

Please go troll somewhere else.
Yeah, RC-1140's version looks fine, too.

Backtab, Home (or Rule/Home), Tab.

Ah, that's why those two arrows on tab are aligned that way.
Shift + tab is backtab.
The tab symbol on modern keyboards now makes so much sense

Dolch and SKIData tied, and we have TA in 2nd place.
But, I think it is not fair to decide for everyone. So... now that we have passed the primaries I will make a new poll with Dolch, SKIData, DolSKI (mash-up/compromise) and 2nd place TA green/grey. OP has been edited to reflect this.
Sorry to all pulling for other options, but there is always next time
I know I said I would include vote on community colorways, but I think we may just keep things more cut down and simple this first time out and only do 1 colorway option, and we can build on our successes and learn from any mistakes and keep refining ideas in the mean time for the next go.
I hope this seems fair and balanced even though I know it is more limited than I originally planned. I just want to get a focus so we have the best chance of reaching our target order quantity. This way we can prove GMK that they don't need to worry about our groupbuy model and we can build momentum.
Also, in regard to languages options... I know this will disappoint some but for now I am just going to call it as US/GB/DE/ES/SF other languages just don't have enough interest right now, unless it is only marginally cheaper to add some extra keys to cover more they will be put on hold for next time.
I hope interest and support will still continue so we can make it a reality. We had 280 votes from unique names for the first poll, so I really think we can make it if support continues.

Ok what is the MOQ for a language to get his set ?
i mean if i order many sets and the language sets too will i need to buy 10 or 50 ?
On the other side having many useless keys (ANSI for exemple) does not help.
Thanks

For some language that only need a few more keys like Norwegian and Danish it may be trivial to add it back, once I find out better cost information. For some like French/Belgian... you need a LOT more support, only got 6% of votes. Those have the most highest amount of different key, it is not quite so easy to add back without a lot of support as then you have people complain about so many useless key for those layout. I know it sucks but it is hard to be as fair as possible while getting as much in as possible. In the end support for some things is just not there right now.

I will buy any set of these, especially if Æ,Ø and Å is included
What color will the mods on the TA set have?
Posted: 09 Feb 2013, 00:43
by IvanIvanovich
The original set is like this mock up you made for it, so I was planning on going with that and maybe an alternate enter with white on the lighter green like the delete key in the OP.

I missed a question, no handarbiet got 4th. Oddly white on black ended up in 3rd. Should they be added back to the poll or should we just leave it?

by Broadmonkey
Sounds great, thanks! I would normally prefer mods with a darker color, but on the TA set, I actually like the uniformity quite a lot. Love that idea of a green enter key to break it a bit and keep it true to the original.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it will triumph over Dolch/Ski.

It's still early... you never know. I was surprised a bit myself with some outcomes. I expected some things to be a lot more popular. Like there was barely any love for Goupil and that colorway is boss and quite rare in comparison to some. I guess there is no accounting for taste (or poorly calibrated displays).
