A friend lent me a 10mm APC-C lens and I can get some really wide shots with it! :o

I've consolidated nearly all of my collection onto these two shelves.

Started cleaning up the AT102W I got from Woden via the Rabbithole Kit... Put on some cool US/Thai keycaps on to jazz it up a bit.

Found a dirt cheap ($0.99 USD, including shipping from Thailand) Monterey-style dome and slider board on eBay. Was hoping for nice double/triple shot caps (as are sometimes found on these sorts of boards in international markets), but they are still nice pad printed ones, except the K is a little worn. So yeah, Alps caps in US/Thai dual legends.

Will Retr0brite them sometime, and the beat-to-shit case on the Dell will perhaps get a paint job, since it is quite scarred up, but is very nice feeling and the Alps switches feel surprisingly clean for how gungy the keycaps initially were.

Image

Also ordered a bunch of ProMicros, so I can mod it to be USB. The shitty active converter I have it hooked up to is a little sensitive (e.g. Shift, Ctrl, etc. "release" early, even when being held down), but I read about problems with some cheapy converters on geekhack, so making it more perm mod sounds like a plan.

If everything was gorgeous stock, I would leave stock and restore, but since it was kind of beat up, nor are late-model Dell Bigfoots particularly rare, I have no qualms against modding and tricking out this badboy.

As a note, I have been using this in addition to the Tipro for the last few days... All my shortcuts and hotkeys are there, so want to keep that around. The black Alps do feel really nice, particularly when typing prose.

KBT/Vortex Pure Pro:

Qwerkeys limited edition keycap number 84 for backspace, cherry red esc, swearing key (which is set via dipswitches to be the caps lock), commie key as right shift, and biohazard for right control. I've had it for about 3 years now, it's running cherry reds. Not a bad board by any means, but I'm looking for an upgrade as it feels a bit cheap and boring to type on.

I'm going through the try-all-the-switches phase. So here's my grey HHKB2 with grey alphas and Topre accent keys and my kitchen counter.

Image

Keyboard from Amazon JP, alphas from an Ebay seller, accent keys from an Ebay scalper. Amazon JP was the most convenient with all the customs stuff taken care of at time of sale. The alpha's were just under the customs limit for Switzerland, but you only find out when you receive the package. The scalper of course underdeclared the value

Potato or DSLR pics... It doesn't matter.

Took the picture with too much love?
Maybe post it in this thread: Random keyboards lovingly photographed.

Now to kick it off:

I had to try and see what I could use a green spacebar for.

My friend's son with their first Model M (posted with his permission).

Also, it seems that after all that cleaning ... the keyboard doesn't work so they'll soon have their second Model M :P

A bolt-modded Model M frankenboard that I've been using for the past two weeks, a junker made complete with various components from a 1987 1391401 and 2005 Unicomp. It has IBM-style Cyrillic keycaps from Unicomp.

Did a traditional nut-and-bolt mod instead of a screw mod this time. Very happy with the result, feels great to type on. :)

Really enjoying your pictures recently emdude, they're really nice! Membrane buckling spring living in the shadow of its capacitive brother makes me glsd to see the passion you have for your Model Ms :) Hopefully my photog skills are up to par with yours one day, but until then, here is my most recent project :D

Thanks subcat! I think capacitive buckling springs are mostly better too, but Model Ms have charm of their own and I appreciate that they're solid, no fuss keyboards. It was lots of fun fixing this one up!

I borrowed a friend's DSLR for these again, the same one I used to take my 3277 photos. I need to get one of my own eventually so I can really improve. :)

Nice Minicom caps on your 1800! Those sublegends are really distinctive.

Thanks! Most of the keycaps are Cherry dyesubs. The ones that aren't are double shot (r1 |\, r3 control and 1.75u shift).

Never even noticed they were from different sets, they seem to be working well together. Are you going to try and find some replacement caps for the 1u arrow keys that are dotted around? Perhaps even some blanks, or keep them as is?

I kind of like the arrows, reminds me these keycaps came from somewhere else
