I'm playing the lottery today. If it's SMK or Alps I will be very happy based on that condition. Cherry might make a good chassis for a custom project, since that backplate looks metal and I'm a sucker for that.

I've seen this on and off for several weeks now. I guess, there isn't much demand for these things in Europe. Or people are just not willing to pay as much. Another Italian seller has been trying to sell two beamsprings for over a month. Not a single bid was received each time the item was relisted. Both the models had a start bid of EUR 750. Both the items were eventually removed/not listed by the seller.

Lost the lottery.

It's a very stiff kind of clicky foam and foil switch. At least the keycaps are doubleshots... Wish they were Alps mount though. The click is actually pretty strong and surprisingly consistent but it is still very unpleasant to type on, just, so heavy, and then everything past the click feels like foam and foil, so.....

Those springs might be valuable. I have couple that fit buckling springs and they are very useful for stiffening space bars. If I had more I would put them around NumLock and CapsLock.

They actually think they'll become rich selling crappy based keyboards for upper level price tags. Those that hand over money like that deserve to be ripped off every time without haste.

Usually never blame the seller here, it's the payer/buyer that needs his butt kicked around the block for fun. Maybe then it teaches them not to throw away their money like that on trivial garbage .

what is the appeal to skcl browns? Is it just their novelty? I don't see how they can be any better than skcl green.

They have some distinct smooth tactile bump, can't really be compared with other Alps tactile switches.
SKCL Green is a linear switch, something completely different. Linear switches a are much simpler in design

Nice switches, but the keyboard is a Chicony 5160, not really exciting.

SKCL Brown and SKCM Brown are different switches. SKCL Brown has the led cutout like other linear alps.

While I have to admit my lack of proficiency in IBM matters, I just can't see what in this description is supposed to be deceptive and not just simply factual, sober and accurate, and every claim in the description fits the pics. A pic of that exact same layout is to be found in the DT wiki page "IBM Model F".
Here is the complete description:

This is a generic clone mechanical keyboard of an IBM Model F. It is made by Mtek (Monterey International Corp.). Model number is K2AX. Serial number is 87A 0003323.

A. switch on the back allows you to switch between AT and XT compatibility. This is a mechanical keyboard with an unknown type of switches.

Condition
The keyboard has been completely disassembled and meticulously cleaned (but not Retrobrited). A few of the key caps are less yellowed than the others, so they were probably replaced at some point. The keyboard was tested on a AT-compatible computer, and 3 keys did not respond. Due to its age and condition, it is being sold as-is.

Shipping
The item will be very well packaged for safe shipment. Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.

I always work on the simple premise, if it ISN'T a Model-F - then why mention it in the first place?

Because this 'shyster' mentioned it, any gullible would think it's in fact remotely linked to that ever famous and quite durable design. That is what is known as subtle substitution, by using weaselly words.

That is how you sell JUNK by mentioning OTHER examples of QUALITY but only offering the rubbish piece instead. Every dodgy seller in Asian Market stalls, run that very same rouse of confusing the gullible, whilst talking gibberish.

In the end the buyer gets fooled into believing he is buying something linked to a Model-F, which in fact it isn't in any way, shape or form. Unless you are looking at the key-cap mechanism of pressing the key (which on these horrid designs won't come back to you in a reliable way).

Always refuse to deal with anyone mentioning a Model-F in a sale, when in fact it isn't. Those are the scumbags to avoid in every way, shape or form, unless they are in fact selling an authentic Model-F keyboard to begin with .

It is an absolutely accurate description, with no attempt to sell the keyboard for a genuine Model F.
