I'm playing the lottery today. If it's SMK or Alps I will be very happy based on that condition. Cherry might make a good chassis for a custom project, since that backplate looks metal and I'm a sucker for that.xxhellfirexx wrote: 20 Nov 2019, 04:18 https://www.ebay.com/itm/143447128763
Anyone want to play switch lottery? It could be Alps, SMK, or Cherry.

I grabbed it for $25 shipped so I can't really complain even if it's not.kmnov2017 wrote: 19 Nov 2019, 23:23 Not a bad price for whats most likely a white alps board https://www.ebay.com/itm/233236468619
I've seen this on and off for several weeks now. I guess, there isn't much demand for these things in Europe. Or people are just not willing to pay as much. Another Italian seller has been trying to sell two beamsprings for over a month. Not a single bid was received each time the item was relisted. Both the models had a start bid of EUR 750. Both the items were eventually removed/not listed by the seller.XMIT wrote: 20 Nov 2019, 22:11 Honeywell Hall Effect keyboard and terminal in Italy. I hope someone there can get this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193212871297/
Looks like the same keyboard as Muirium's Honeywell Hall Effect from so many years ago. It's a bit out of my price range at the moment...

Flebay, it gives hope to everyone when it comes time to sell their junk pileKeybug wrote: 22 Nov 2019, 17:52 This is so utterly ridiculous. 250€ for a lasered-caps run-of-the-mill G80-3000 - and its not even in great condition. Gives me violent ideas...
what is the appeal to skcl browns? Is it just their novelty? I don't see how they can be any better than skcl green.Fod wrote: 23 Nov 2019, 01:32 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Old-Lo ... SwqQpd2FEx
found this listing, skcl browns are pretty rare, right?
They have some distinct smooth tactile bump, can't really be compared with other Alps tactile switches.Rezene wrote: 23 Nov 2019, 02:05

SKCL Brown and SKCM Brown are different switches. SKCL Brown has the led cutout like other linear alps.cli wrote: 23 Nov 2019, 15:23 They have some distinct smooth tactile bump, can't really be compared with other Alps tactile switches.
SKCL Green is a linear switch, something completely different. Linear switches a are much simpler in design
Nice switches, but the keyboard is a Chicony 5160, not really exciting.

While I have to admit my lack of proficiency in IBM matters, I just can't see what in this description is supposed to be deceptive and not just simply factual, sober and accurate, and every claim in the description fits the pics. A pic of that exact same layout is to be found in the DT wiki page "IBM Model F".Elrick wrote: 25 Nov 2019, 03:29 Check out link to this Face-Clown's description;

Unbelievable what they can get away with on Flebay. Describe something rubbish and mention multiple quality keyboards, within that very same description.
This is superb shyster 'scatter-gun' approach to confusing the gullible and the inept, into handing over cash for something that is pure crap.
Nice one Flebay, you get the award here for selling sewage as Gold.
Nowhere it is even remotely suggested this would be an IBM model F, and there is a clear photo of the switch, which even I at once recognize not to be a buckling spring. This is a generic clone mechanical keyboard of an IBM Model F. It is made by Mtek (Monterey International Corp.). Model number is K2AX. Serial number is 87A 0003323.
A. switch on the back allows you to switch between AT and XT compatibility. This is a mechanical keyboard with an unknown type of switches.
Condition
The keyboard has been completely disassembled and meticulously cleaned (but not Retrobrited). A few of the key caps are less yellowed than the others, so they were probably replaced at some point. The keyboard was tested on a AT-compatible computer, and 3 keys did not respond. Due to its age and condition, it is being sold as-is.
Shipping
The item will be very well packaged for safe shipment. Shipped with USPS Parcel Select Ground.
I always work on the simple premise, if it ISN'T a Model-F - then why mention it in the first place?kbdfr wrote: 25 Nov 2019, 07:58 Nowhere it is even remotely suggested this would be an IBM model F, and there is a clear photo of the switch, which even I at once recognize not to be a buckling spring.
Oh, by the way, I'm by no means affiliated with the seller![]()
