Unless I'm missing something this is a bad deal, there are several first-gen m122 for sale rn for way less than that.

Perhaps they’re more rare in the UK

I've seen a few go by this year over here, so it's not super rare, but you'd be lucky to find these for under £80 in clean condition.

I see them very often for under 100 CAD which is about 57 GBP. There are several for sale right now for that price.

Even though IBM had a plant in Greennock for many years, Model Ms are an order of magnitude harder to find outside of the US (perhaps with the exception of Canada and Mexico).

Besides that, terminal keyboards were sold with systems, such as the AS400, which were probably also much more rare outside of the US, while Model Ms were consumer commodities that were compatible with almost any personal computer.

One can find plenty of model Ms in Germany on any given day. I've owned over 20 of them, and on an average paid around 30 euros for them ....

That's true. IBM has historically had a big marketshare and presence in Germany

Geac terminal keyboard. It seems that Geac's primary customer was libraries, this one features a printed and laminated label for OLIS (Oxford Library Information System I believe).

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-GEAC-l ... 3720375622

Offered $35, free shipping and the seller took it. Took a bit of time to ship, but came in a massive box with tons of bubblewrap.

It's a chunky little board. The layout isn't thi best and the switches need... help, but I guess I'm so broken that $35 seems like a steal.

Wow, that''s a very early one, May 1988. Only the second one I've ever seen with the ON/OFF switch and 1u backspace. The other one was posted here a couple years back. Unfortunately out of my price range.

Looks like nothing some retr0bright won't fix. Still a bit expensive though.

Looks like DCS so hopefully MX blacks (clean but probably not vintage?), but I can't promise anything.

That or its keytronic. Hopefully my "lowball" is accepted and I can find out.

I'm quite sure this is F&F, there used to be a bunch on ebay in variating state, one of them was missing a cap and it was F&F

Well I guess I'll find out how NOS F&F feels. Converting it is the part I'm scared of.

This guy is claiming that this Displaywriter beam spring was made in 1988 because of the date code on the sticker. If someone here ends up getting it, I'd be really interested in knowing if the cable tag dates corroborate this. I'm wondering if it was a keyboard produced in an earlier year and refurbed in 1988.

I wonder if it’s reprogrammable. It looks like the ultimate macro pad. What are your plans for it?

I love user and service manuals, especially when digital copies are available.

I should have checked for this, but I assumed it was too obscure. It's a shame that companies today have all this information during design and manufacture but they assume no one wants it.

I guess I'll have to start making macros  My daily driver is a Kineses Advantage, and this board looks closer to a Focus FK-5001 in terms of width. I'll make room, but it might cut into the 'cat spot' on my desk.

I might be in the minority here but I hope a typewriter collector gets it. I'd hate to see such a nice machine get torn up so some yuppie can make their beamspring look like a space cadet.

I actually agree with you. I was contemplating harvesting the keys, buying a set of grey keys and reselling it, but it's such a nice specimen it should go to somebody who will enjoy it for what it is.
