Did anyone else see this on eBay? A TKL Model F made with capacitive F switches and a Model M SSK case. I was tempted to the point of “watching” it but didn’t make an offer; it went today.

Shouldn't be M-chop to FSSK?

100% a chop job that looked terrible if you zoom in on the pics and at an insane price but hey-
some folks have more $ than sense and as long as they do seller will keep workin it.

To be fair, the seller was clear about how he’d put it together, and I agree it looked a bit rough round the edges, but I do think a TKL with Model F switches is pretty cool.

I absolutely, positively cannot buy any more keyboards until I sell some, so I will lead others to a (possible) treasure I cannot possess.

Unikey 7001. Wiki says white or salmon Alps. Tai-Hao double-shots. Currently $41.
Now back to my searching threads for info on how to convert an Epson Q503a ...

$80 for 23 vintage boards? That's a pretty good score. Some of them look interesting.

For what it's worth, I've fixed up one of these and they're not particularly great. Plastic mounting plate, thin case, thin caps, poor KRO, etc. I think the spacebars were wired in parallel so you can't map them differently either. Neat layout but it definitely feels like a Chicony.

I found this IBM Model M SSK 1397681 boxed:
https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... 3-225-4087
I've contacted the seller. He sent me some timestamp pictures and is willing to do the transaction with PayPal Buyer's Protection. But tbh. I don't know if the price is way too high for an SSK or if this even a scam.
Any recommendations?

Fair price if it's NIB. The pics aren't especially clear on that. It looks in good condition, and seems to have the box, but you want to be sure when talking that kind of money.
(Yes, I got my NIB SSK for a lot less, but those were olden times…)

Definitely way too high. I paid for a similar condition (Near-NIB) for around 250 EUR less than that 2 months ago.
Honestly, other than paying out the arse prices for SSKs at the moment, anyone in EU is better off waiting for the Mini M to make its way over here, or getting it proxied by someone and it'll still end up being cheaper.

Yes, that's also my impression. I bought my SSK for 200 EUR, well not NIB but still in excellent condition.
Anyway, I'm not familiar with SSK NIB prices, so good that I checked it out first. Many thanks

200? Nice catch! They always used to carry a premium, so I'm still biased by that.
Unicomp's remake is okay, but I'd always take a real SSK over one of those. (The crimes they committed against USB inside that thing…) "Issues aside", however, it's a compelling value keyboard.

I got one of Cindy's discoveries too, but when I cracked open the box I found that over half of the rivets were already broken. Warehousemen and distributors are not known for their gentle touch.
But I was already experienced with bolt-modding and would probably have done it anyway.

I've had recent offers to buy a NIB SSK for around the 200 mark, and I had the Mini M proxied over for less.
If anything the prices should be going down, not up since Unicomp have pretty much cloned it.

IBM 3178 Italian offered in C2 flavour. Most likely with solenoid on board..
How much will it go?
IMO, more than 250. What do you guess?

I found a Model M 1391403 at the communal recycling center. Could not believe this happens to me in 2021 - Olé
Three keycaps missing.
Well, the controller is ok (shortened some contacts in the plugs), but none of the keys register. Hmm, lots of work.
Why interesting? The board is 1990 Greenock production. I have a quite similar board from 1991. Now the 1991 has no bumps on the "F" and "J" keys but the one from 1990 has them??? Does anyone know when they were introduced? May be replaced afterwards?
Additionally I got a HP C1400A #ABD. Nice red and green font colour. rubber dome. No Idea what do do with it..
Cheers Martin

Man, these HP boards just look so cool. There's also a terminal (?) one with FLS, right?

Today I was there again. Sorry, no Terminal, but I found a mouse. HP46060B, looks like a WW1 tank.
FLS? Final landig service?
Additionally I grabbed a TA Gabriele 9009.
Connecting to mains did not result in any sign of life.
Harvest or restore?

On the returns section of the listing it says “Accepted within 30 days” so hopefully the seller will let you cancel.

No worries. It's not the seller's fault, but my failure to read the appropriate thing in the wiki and/or do some extra Googling. I see no reason why the seller should have to suffer because of my mistake.
FWIW, I now have a discount with the seller and he does have some interesting stuff.
