Also, if I can get all the other boards sold, I could seriously hit up all the local e-waste centers and see what I can do.

Probably going to be working in conjunction with Ace in some way too.

You know all this is not really meant serious right? You`ll never find all those keyboards wanted. ;)

But if your going looking anyway... 8-)

I am looking. I won't keep my hopes up too much, but who knows what could be in these recycling centers? :geek:

I have a whole summer to find out! But I have to sell my other boards first. I am really flexible on the pricing for those, mind you. I just need them gone and to make back minimal profit for my time.

Oh yeah, I don't think an APL unsaver will come easy, but the kishy doesn't stand out too much in a pile of keyboards...

Remember...

I have to sell those before I can make progress elsewhere.

We can wait for the good stuff. When you get to the Kishaavers, I'll have 4x 62 keys and 8x 77s. And some IBM APLs to cover half of them, thanks. I could stretch as far as $50 for that lot.

Yes for me also, I forgot that one. And the Beam spring version of this:

Preferably new in box. :D The title of this thread really makes sense now. Oh yeah forgot the industrial F XT.

Yeah, I like that little Beamspring. Got it in blue and grey? Preferably sealed in box. But I could slum it with NIB if I get a discount. Add it to my tab!

now if Redmaus ever really finds any of this stuff we're all gonna look like jackasses. He's in Texas no less, land of old keyboard's.

Not quite yet. Not in a big way.

Absolutely, Redmaus will then become the next Cindy. Liked by all. Pulling epic hauls.

Keeping epic lists. Forgetting to check them. Feeding the Sharks anyway! Yay!

Do I hear some criticism? An unhappy customer? Or even an unthankful customer? Nah...can't be. :O

I'm a happy shark. Leave lists to the other guys!

Well I hope to find that stuff but of course no guarantees. Don't forget about Ace, we will be working together!

@snoopy
I am doing some serious work on a square label right now, but not industrial. I am selling it however.

I had a chance to get one for $107 + ship but I had to turn it down as I didn't have the cash.

You have to be proactive and have the product numbers memorized. I spent a few weeks sorting through IBM esoterica before I had the right PN for the APL Unsaver. There's still good IBM stuff to be had, for example the IBM F122 "core" (everything but the case and cable) can be found via PN. I got one NIB from another member who found them. It really pays to do your homework.

For unsaver PNs you can look through the 3290 plasma terminal parts catalog and/or matinenace manual. There's lots of good beamspring info on the DT wiki. Back when the 4704 stuff was still secret, I figured out where they came from by doing some serious in-depth research of IBM part numbers. For example, did you know they came in multiple language layouts? If you can find the part numbers (and they *are* out there), you might be able to find a vendor with stock (I wasn't).

Wow $107. I would've take that instantly. :)
But i think that kind of "impossible" today.

You and everyone else. I can't get over how beautiful this backplate is. Doesn't really matter though, since its on the bottom

Now that I have my perfect dream keyboard, I need the dream trackball. A CH products DT-225. I have been looking for quite a while.

Once the summer rolls around I will open up the sandwich and begin the change in layout and possibly change the IBM beige to a stealth black look. Not sure yet.

Ah, Dorkvader, that's what happened with your APL Unsaver. I remember you told me you were onto a few via PM, back when I was asking about the Model Fs in Tinnie's ultimately doomed Taobao GB. Old times!

Ach, I'd have snapped one up for $107 too!

Fortunately this isn't my dream board. A bit on the big side, and I discovered beamsprings after that which I like all the more. Still another good fisherman's tale though.

I'm much too lazy to do my homework. (Really. Story of my life.) I rely on people tipping me!

I never used a trackball in my life, but i could think it's nice for office tasks.
But i'm not really into that and don't know which trackball is good and which is not that good. :)

Is it worth trying it out sometime?

Yes...

It is. The only flaw I see with trackballs is if you into video games particularly FPS, a trackball can be harder to use.

I have a CH products trackball pro, but unlike Guille's mine is PS/2 and the firmware unlike the DT-225, is very odd and there are weird things that happen that make it no fun to use software wise. I love the perfect retro look and the steel rollers though. I would kill for a DT-225. Especially the black one. I know digi-key has them, but they want 300$ each

Sorry Snoopy but its really hard to feel bad for the guy that has three kishsavers.

@ macmakkara
You might have the regular version of the unsaver. I would be very interested in seeing some in depth photos of yours. Everything, inside and out. We could compare backplates ;)

I really wanted that board some years ago. Even then hard to find.

As for the gold stuff, that's chromate conversion coating, usually applied to a zinc coat for extra protection:
