Don't make it too complicated. But like I said you are right, there is a difference the sound. I still believe that a thicker metal plate makes all the difference in Alps sound and feel.

I hear you, unfortunately space invaders are somewhat rare, I managed to pick up one (now two) boards in two years. But you'll find one if you are patient. Great switch.

Why are thin ABS Doubleshots good on Alps? Even Alps themselves disagree by putting thick PBT on everything they made.
