I think it's too expensive. Cherry G80-3000s are good keyboards, but near $200 is too much.

I hate the way the keyboard looks. It looks like such a cheap frame =/

I think the white version looks nice. My biggest problem (no pun intended) with the 3000-series is that they are so friggin' large. There is a lot of wasted space, especially at the top of the 'board. It's kinda funny looking at something like a Filco/Leopold/Ducky next to a G80-3000. The other manufacturers hardly have any wasted space at all; it makes the G80-3000 look like a battleship.

But it's also a classic look. Although when it comes to classic looks, the Model M is king!

Holy mother of necroposting!
The G80 is, like pretty much all G80s, PCB mounted.
Or were you referring to the IBM SSK above?

Yes I've seen that, nice joke isn't it?
Meanwhile, all regular G80's have risen in price for seemingly no reason at all,
...here I thought they were going to discontinue the G80 series in favor of the more "modern" and flat space-keyboards.
Well, at least they put these switches in a G80 not an MX-Board, that makes them so much easier to harvest

btw a great talk from robin about why no iso
The simple answer is to do with markets. The biggest market for these keyboards at the moment is the far east and generally, they use a modified ANSI layout. The G80-3494 model series is currently NOT available as an ISO variant - believe me, I've asked for it to be done and this, unfortunately, requires a complete change of PCB, so a total re-design, which for the numbers we're likely to sell here, isn't something they can do.

and in the special edition post who also came from the G80-3494
In order to get them, as a company, we have to order 4000pcs in total - 2000pcs in black, 2000pcs in light-grey.

So maybe its just, hey we have this G80-3494 laying around lets put some mx silent in here.
The only problem i see is the current mrsp of 149$ i dont know in the Usa, maybe they also have the ducky channel one in pbt alternative who here cost 109-119-149 € depend on version and discount. Maybe its just to not have some competition on the Corsair one model.
