Oh, this quest is for a Model M! Yeah, you have options. I have a USB equivalent to that in my SSK: one of Phosphorglow’s controllers. Elegant.
The downside is if you like the original IBM SDL cable (which on DT you’re almost guaranteed to!) these replacement controllers also become incompatible with the big old coiled original. If you’re a purist, you’re still best off with a converter at the far end.

Ah, that's very cool. I do love the coiled beige cable from my new/old SSK, but I guess wireless would be the next best thing.
For now, the Belkin adapter seems to be working though....
