I also got a G80-2551, loved it, started putting lots of crazy cap ideas on there. It's currently got a full white alpha/number, a GG Mobo Kit and RGB mods. BBC Micro arrows and numpad and an Amstrad Red Escape, and an F row filled with daft caps.

Basically I ruined it, so when my phantom arrives or I manage to finish a mod, I'll but the DE caps back on it and put it in the origional box to be protected from my stupidity.

Novelty caps do ruin keyboards... there I said it... :P

Update:

1 Ascaii (wants to be kept on the list) <-- NIB
2 7bit (would have bid on it, if it were closer to his home; definitely wants one) <-- NIB
3 kbdfr (wants to be counted in) <-- NIB
4 dirge (contacted seller ; wants to be put down!) <-- NIB
5 Half-Saint (sell one, buy two more ...) <-- NIB
6 fruktstund (is wow-also intersted) <-- NIB
7 fossala (is in for just one) <-- NIDB
8 lysol (interested in one) <-- keycaps of NIB\{F8}

Thanks to both of you (Peter and Dirge) for organizing this. I will gladly take one with the damaged box. I mainly care about somewhat completing the G80 line in my collection, but do not care too much for the box. I might need someone to PayPal proxy for me and I can do a bank transfer.

You could pay to me, so dirge can buy more Round 4 stuff ...

1 : PCB-mounted Blacks with diodes (NKRO)
2 : The box mine came in is marked 'Finlux' ( http://www.finlux.com/ ) .
Somehow I doubt they had anything to do with these boards ..
So, screw the box .
3 : I have no idea about the one 'original' 201-board.. It could be crap compared to the Cherry-version ?
If no-one else feels for it, I'll take it so dirge doesn't get stuck with it .
Does that make those doubleshot arrow keys rare as rocking horse shit then?
Plus : Original Cherry DS 'Compose Character'-cap, 'Help' and 'Do'-caps ..
Not to mention the 'Erase back'- backspace ..
Me thinks even Koreans find them a bit rare :)

@ Lysol : I'm terribly sorry about that !

Hey lysol, looks like maybe the same board already in the US?

Nope. It's similar but not the same. Those Wyse have SP keycaps, which I strongly dislike.

So could you among yourselves please decide and post the final list of who's getting the 6NIB, 3New but damaged box, and 1 with F8 key missing.

She should call this morning about the shipping costs so I'll have a final per board price, but expect it to be under £20 and over £15.

I'll be using http://www.p4d.co.uk/ and their Royal Mail option for shipping, as you don't need to fill out crazy forms, and it's worked in the past. Use NE24 1AA as my postcode, I'd 'guess' a weight of 2.5kg as that's what the WYSE boards were. That should be enough to estimate your shipping and final price, but don't send any money until I've got your order all booked in and finalised.

I'm not making money on this, way I see it is I get free delivery on my item to deliver them to you guys. Please don't resell them, don't think I need to say that really, nobody in the list is the type to do that.

Other than the F8 one, I'd love to see people wanting full boards but will accommodate just caps if that's what you really want. Just understand that its a HORRIBLE task to strip new boards naked just for the keycaps. I feel dirty afterwards, the poor things have sat on a shelf in their box for over 10 years waiting to be used.

I'm quite sure it's more than 20 years.

This is the list:

1 Ascaii (wants to be kept on the list) <-- NIB
2 7bit (would have bid on it, if it were closer to his home; definitely wants one) <-- NIB
3 kbdfr (wants to be counted in) <-- NIB
4 dirge (contacted seller ; wants to be put down!) <-- NIB
5 Half-Saint (sell one, buy two more ...) <-- NIB
6 fruktstund (is wow-also intersted) <-- NIB
7 fossala (is in for just one) <-- NIDB
8 lysol (interested in one) <-- keycaps of NIB\{F8}
9 sixty (grab one too if any leftover) <-- NIDB
10 soarer (did not post)<-- NIDB
11 ped (These are Cherry profile DS?)<--- NIB\{all keycaps}
12 Peter (2nd one)<---Digital LK201 (No Box)
13 webwit (Cherry freaks... )<-- error, no keyboard left

If there is some dispute on it, I also take a damaged box, as they seem not original anyway.

7bit, your list is broken, there aren't 12 keyboards. There are 10 plus the digital LK201.

ped wrote:7bit, your list is broken, there aren't 12 keyboards. There are 10 plus the digital LK201.
One will get keycaps only, so there is one without key caps.

The list is just the order in which everybody posted their interest. I will take a NIDB, but surely want one, becuase I posted my interst earlier than anybody else. We can argue about Ascaii's position. But he posted his definite interest before you did.

But maybe somebody jumps off the lits. Also, I don't organise it so maybe I won't get any....

:-(

Postage is going to cost £69.99 so that would make each board £22 not including postage. The word pallet did worry me.

I've suggested a different option so this is worst case at the moment.

by fruktstund
I don't think £22 without postage is that bad. It's even quite a good price, isn't it?

Just wanted to post and say I'm still interested! I've been a bit busy in Swedish Denmark (and am still), so I haven't really had time to read this thread thoroughly.

I don't care much about the box either, as long as the keyboard is as fine as possible. ;)

Okay, I mentioned in the other thread by mistake, should have updated this one.

6 Keyboards as mentioned before..( these are in boxes - various box conditions, But keyboards all in good condition
1 Keyboard in box (discoloured keyboard)
2 Keyboards in boxes (very tatty and keyboards slight dampness and marking to them - due to storage)
1 keyboard no F8 Key discoloured and wear and tear
1 Keyboard no box - (discoloured, the digital keyboard - not same as others) (no photo of this sent)

I'm going to need everyone to say they are still okay with this sale given the change in condition of the boards. I'm sure the new ones people will be fine with, but it's the others I worry about.

I need to get this sorted out soon as it's been dragging on so will drop some messages out too.

Yellowed like you don't get to see every day!
Since this one does have a different 'enter' key and extra keys left&right of the spacebar, is it still the same thing; or?
Enjoy those who get them!

edit: Oh, it also has lockleds in the top left, and no bar on top for keeping notes of what F-key does what..

I wouldn't want one in any of the poor conditions.

Hmm, awkward...

I wouldn't want the last one. I might take one like http://i.imgur.com/61MsG.jpg, but at a lower price! Although, box looks mouldy so it could be smelly :(

I'm just glad she told me before we took the plunge. I'd have been stuck with mouldy boards and quite unhappy about it lol.

I'll wait to see what everyone wants, but I have a feeling like I should just take the 6 in good condition and forget about the rest.

She's said the rest will go on eBay anyway so given their condition will go for less than £15 all in.

TBH, the seller sounds realistic... maybe taking just the NIB ones wouldn't save much, and you might as well take all of them. Either way, people getting a NIB would pay a little more.

Just bath it in vinegar

:o

I did it with my G80-1501 and it survived!

Less often used keys still feel a bit scratchy, but this will go away when they are typed in again ...

I would take one of the lower quality ones (for a lower price, I hope). The only demand I have is that the keys themselves are not yellowed.

Funny how things evolve in circles. :) Regarding the last one with different layout/ legends:
I follow this thread from post 1, then I stumble over an auction (relisted btw) with 10 Keyboards that seemed to have a similar layout like those Cherry 1306 have, only slightly different.

I read the wiki, google a bit, google pics
and came to the conclusion that those 10 boards are likely DEC LK401 (or very similar models).
Remain rather disappointed only to find that this knowledge might now be appreciated where it all started for me... :)

DEC LEK401 are rubberdomes, as far as I remember.

Someone at geekhack described it as the worst keyboard they had ever used so I guess it is bad.

IF LK401, which google pics does seem to echo; but that doesn't make it correct; findecannor has this to say: "LK401 is a horrible mushy rubber dome keyboard. The key caps are slanted and have a curved surface. The key caps are not MX-compatible, as the slider touches the dome directly."
Who knows what this supposed LK201 is..
Plus, why I even quoted the pic in the first place; Dirge posted that the only pics he'd received are of the 'identical' boards.. not of the LK-201. Mysterious!
