For me, from the Netherlands, 143-150ms to deskthority.net and 34ms-41ms to hetzner.de.
From deskthority.net, in Texas, it's 131ms to hetzner.de.

How does 234ms feel when you browse to
http://www.hetzner.de ? Does it feel responsive or do you notice the delay? I don't notice delay in my case of 150ms to deskthority.net, although I might note it if it's less than 40. But it doesn't bother my experience. One would probably note it when you have an autocompleting input field or something like that, shooting ajax requests at the server, but that is not our user case.

European and USA locations (now we have the west coast) are probably predictable now (but keep them coming), Asia and Australia will be interesting. If they go through the USA (which is probably the case), ping might be less acceptable...

Browsing DT as it is does not feel slow from where I am, so I think a few more ms would not hurt the few US guys.

Compgeke's Californian perspective may be still be sunnier than 002's down under. Hopefully things won't be too bad for our Pacific peers, but who knows.

Ah,
www. my old friend: the longest abbreviation in the world. And a trap for poorly configured DNS, too:
topre.co.jp: 67.215.65.132, 25 ms
www.topre.co.jp 164.46.125.227, 303 ms
Probably OpenDNS is kicking in to save my ping from Topre's oblivion. (I have OpenDNS set alongside Google as my router's DNS server.)

It's not too terribly bad, I notice a partial lag when loading pages, although it's not enough for me to consider it to be unbearable. I'm also on about 300ms ping right now using 3G, early result was from school.
matt3o wrote:Compgeke's 230ms is a bit high though
I was on school wifi at the time, which may have had a part in it. I'll try again when I get home to see if there's any huge difference.

The big boys are using content distribution networks, which is why we're seeing "faster than light" ping times on some of these: they're cached. Especially big Australian sites over here, and big American ones down under.
But Chinese sites seem not to care about their performance abroad. So very realistic numbers from there. And a bit of a live worst case scenario for how DT will feel for the Far East, if the server comes to Europe.

Now that I'm home (Yountville, CA) I get a 170ms average ping.
Another site I frequent, which is hosted in France, is 150ms ping, so 170 shouldn't be too bad.

That's about what I have now, and I don't have the feeling it is slow.
tinlongs ping times are interesting. For East Asia it seems not to matter where the server is (US or EU).
