We don't need memership numbers.

Because a member already has a unique id - the username.

But, but.. but.... an increasing number is MUCH better!
A usernames bitwise hash can differ depending on the character encoding
Well if I would take my favorite number it'd be the 17. But 0001 or 0002 is better in this case

Then just send in the flight tickets.

Character encoding is me, 7bit.
There will be no problem, unless someone registers as "=D9=85=D8=A7=D8=A1".
edit: Holy shit! I found a potential security hole in my ordering system!!!!!

But it is so elaborate: how could that possibly be insecure!
Can't I PM CherryMX and add this to my neverending caps and switches order? Must optimise every penny out of PayPal's hands before they beat us all to Mars…

In fact I've implemented the script on myself. So it can't run when I'm away from any internet connection.

Great! You're the second one who wants 13. I think 7bit is right after all. We should sell low membership numbers by bidding!

My atomic number doesn't come up for a while, so bid away.

The Platinum membership status gives you the ultimate voting
power of 1 votes, which is 1^3 times as many votes as a Plastic
member has!!!!!!!!!
How do I get veto power? I want the super hyper mega ultraglobal uberpremium.

The spamhaus a*s block me now permanently. Don't know why. I must wait until I'm home to send out the e-mails ....

paid yesterday. Why did I pay via SEPA even though I could have used an ordinary non-international transfer? I saw your national data only when I already sent the money. Hope this works out.
Posted: 19 Sep 2013, 17:07
by 7bit
It is the same and does not cost extra.
Contrary to you, I will wait until 1 February 2014 to enter the SEPA hell.

how long will this run?

It might take a few weeks to figure everything out and arrange a meeting at the notary with mrinterface as second founder, so there's no hurry.

How much was DT/WINGNUT again? I believe it was 256 000 ?
Posted: 20 Sep 2013, 22:50
by webwit
You can only get it by winning a DT Award!
So that means bribing the voters. It's probably cheaper.

I'm just glad to contribute. Deskthority has done quite a bit for the keyboard community... and webwit's ego.
