mmmh might be wrong but they don't seem plate mounted in that picture. they seem straight over the PCB. while the white one seems plate mounted (much better)

If you look at the pic of the white one you can just make out the bottom of the switch.

yes, it seems that the case works like a plate mount. In the one ne0phyte linked the switches seems pcb mounted. but I could be completely wrong.

I'm 90% sure I know what to order for an ANSI keyboard now... but I'm thinking this opportunity won't come up again. In the future, it's possible I might buy myself a JIS layout keyboard of the same filco variety. (Right now I have an ANSI Rosewill that reviews say has the same layout as a filco)
Long story short (I'm up a little late - fuzzy brain) What would I have to buy to make this set usable on a JIS filco later on in its life? I'm guessing ISO keys for starters, but is there even a short enough spacebar available?
Upon further inspection of the order form, I'm guessing this set won't be adaptable to JIS with any degree of visual niceness - perhaps I'd better give up and just get a new set of whatever cool group buy is up whenever I get a JIS keyboard.
Note: first foray into the world of keycaps. The fading print on my keys is annoying me; I'd rather them be blank than faded.

JIS layout needs some 1.5 keys and a 3U space bar.
It will be a problem for the space bar only...

OOOH SHIT! Most of the Americans didn't add the country to the address form. I have to wait for them to update their address to make the final price.
wondering what part of "remember the country!" didn't pass through.
edit: let's see if I can find other ways to detect the country... maybe from a list of US states...

Do I still have enough time to add a bunch of blank caps when I get home from work in 6-7 hours time?

USA is the default country. Everybody else has to specify their country.
Also: Shipping is from US anyway, so not a problem here ...

matt3o: Thank you for doing this awesome groupbuy. I really like that the order process it isn't as overcomplicated as other groupbuys, and the software you wrote for it!

thanks fireglow, really appreciated.
Let's hope things go smooth with the US proxy and shipping as well.

Final cost published
Head to the
order form and use your order ID to review your order. Send me a PM if you can't find your Order ID.
You'll find the final cost of your order.
That includes shipping, expenses, SP errors and broken keycaps.
Notes
- The price list page still shows the keycaps raw cost as sold by Signature Plastics. This is for the sake of transparency.
- The final price may still vary during the next couple of days until the orders will be completely frozen.
- Please let me know if you see some weird results!
- The price does not include taxes for US, CA residents. If you live in California you are subject to an additional 8.625% before shipping.
- To international residents (not-US). Note that USPS costs for a medium box is $60 and a small box ($24) only fits 170 keys.
What next (READ!)
- Review your personal info!
- You have another couple of days to change your order. BUT please don't abuse it, the orders should be considered final.
- If you want to cancel your order, do it NOW! The button says "Delete your order" and not "cancel" for a reason. The order is deleted, removed forever, no records taken, no question asked. Better to cancel it now that to not pay the invoice later.

Yikes, $60 shipping to Canada?
If I were to modify my order to be 170 keys or less, will your system automatically calculate with the lower shipping cost?
Thanks!

I don't think so:

"Small Flat Rate Box
$24.00
- Standard USPS Small flat rate box. Fits up to
300 1x keys or about 3 base TKL sets"
?????
My order jump from 180 to 253!!
$60 via EMS is the estimated cost of shipping an LZ-GH Edition, 5 lb!

Oh no. I'm away for a couple of days and I miss the best looking keyset in ages.
I guess I got no one else than my self to blame though.

We can still add stuff to our orders. Maybe someone orders your keys and can forward them to you.

Well considering the price of my keycap order just exceeded the price I paid for the keyboard they'll be going on... I guess I won't be ordering any extra keys (besides both styles of spacebar (I'm not sure which one is the exact fit for my keyboard and I'm paranoid about ordering the wrong one. (must. balance. parens.)))

I don't have access to a Small box. Samwisekoi said that the limit is 170 keys. That is the most expensive part for international orders.
Wait before cancelling I'm trying to get confirmation for that.
anyway:
180 + 60 + (2.9%+0.30 paypal) + 1 packaging = 248.26
The remaining is to cover cancelled orders and spares to cover broken keys and SP whoops. It seems legit

The normal flat rate boxes where good for around 250 key caps (or even more if they are low profile and only small sizes).
I think 300-350 are possible to fit in these, if they still exist.

I'm raising the number of keys from 170 to 200. Also consider that our TKL kit contains a lot of extra keys in the 1.25 and 1.5 range.
Also I'm adding a check on key size, so if you get only 1units you most likely end up in small box
Edit: please check your rates here
http://ircalc.usps.com/ before screaming at high shipping costs

EMS and USPS have more or less the same pricing.

Oh a nice alternative would be to have a $29 flat shipping rate for everyone

but they kill me on GH if I propose something like that
