I've finally figured out the terminal in The Thomas Crown Affair (1968).
It's the Burroughs "Input and Display System" introduced in 1967. Here's a design drawing from the 1967 manual. I couldn't find a photo or closeup of the keyboard, but it must be similar to this one from 1973 (B9351):

I've figured out this Hawaii Five O (1975) terminal too.



It's an Incoterm terminal.

Does anybody know what they keyboards are that are shown in Atari: Game Over? There is a brief flash of a colorful keyboard, and several showings of a thick white keyboard.

I just saw that documentary. It's pretty good. (except some reenactment anachronisms)

I know every single keyboard in that movie. The colourful keyboard you're talking about is the Amstrad CPC 464:



There are a few thick white keyboards. I think the one you're talking about is the Televideo terminal the game programmer is using. (or the Tandy 1000 behind Bill Gates)

There are also a bunch of UNIVAC 1701s, in other shots at the control centre. There are at least three scenes where they use a disk loading sound from an Atari 8-bit computer and of course the Yar's Revenge (Atari 2600 game) sound effects when the kid blows up a shuttle.

There are so, so many vintage keyboards in the earlier X-Files seasons. I'm too lazy to screenshot them though, sorry

The computer in the movie Electric Dreams (1984) was a mockup, but had a DEC LK201 keyboard:
The movie is pretty lame and totally unrealistic - the typical Hollywood nonsense of a computer developing a personality and doing totally impossible things.
I accidentally spilled wine on my Commodore 128, but sadly it never became sentient.

Okay, so it's from a Making Of book rather than the movie. But I like this picture a lot. Mostly for the retro ladies, but check out those spherical keycaps. The high hats. The rounded corners. Oh my!

BTW, there is also a picture of tablets playing video messages: in portrait mode. Vertical videos in a movie from the 1960's. So far ahead of it's time.
Something I do like about the movie is that all computer screens are square: Something that the set designers ignored in the sequel 2010, building HAL's monitors in 4:3 aspect even though there were supposed to be the same.

2010's no good. Well, it's full of stars, but besides that. I vaguely remember watching it once, before I would have noticed all those mistakes. Notoriously, Kubrick had the 2001 models destroyed so those poor bastards had to rebuild all over!

That laptop keyboard… nice as it is, the mysterious absence of the Q key is driving me nuts.

I too have been trying to find information about the keyboard that Dallas used to communicate with Mother inside that white computer chamber. Such a singular set design! I'm amazed that production photos of that keyboard never surfaced; it would be fun to try and replicate the keycap symbols. I wonder if Ron Cobb never got around to designing a full set of kbd symbols and so consequently the camera angles were deliberately sly and never let us really see more than a couple of its keys.

There is a photo floating around of a keyboard from an Alien-licensed video game, but it's not the same key layout as in the original film.

Hmm.. I looked around a little for that last one. It is apparently a late-model Xerox Star workstation keyboard but the top case must have been painted. The same layout can be seen here.

"Baraka", a 1992 documentary, briefly shows the making of NMB keyboards.

Great find! I'm using one of these shots when I next write about space invader boards. One of my favourite outsiders.

Anyone who hasn't watched Baraka and likes photography and beautiful imagery, definitely watch it! The photography is stunning!
