I've not forgotten about this, but currently I'm a bit short of time.
The current status of my work is that switch placement and controller placement are no problem, but I need to add the traces.
You layout is supported by the PCB, and a plate for it should be no problem.

AS PCB is the same we can cusomise even more layouts? What is the shortest space bar available?

Easy question, wich stabilizers do I need for HYPERMINI/ISOWIN? And how much of each?
Thank you!

Real keyboards don't need stabilizers because they don't have too big keys. :p

Do you think that something called "HyperMini" could be real keyboard?

What other lengths can one find for the row? ;D
Hmm I might need to come up with HyperMini-Eka... ;D
Or not...

1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 2.5 (for SA-family), 2.75 (DCS only), 3?, 4 (SA-family only), 6 (DCS only), 6.25, 7, 8, 9.75 (DCS only), 10 units.

What exactly do I have to write to get a HyperMicro, Hyper-Mini-ANSI and Hyper-Mini-ISO to your bot 7bit?
Also, you are not interested in adding this to your GB?

Is a case going to.be designed?

You need for ANSIWIN:
3x STAB200
1x STAB625
You need for ISOWIN:
2x STAB200
1x STAB625
You need for 7BIT:
0x STAB200
1x STAB000
dirge wrote:Is a case going to.be designed?
First there will be traces designed, then we can discuss the case!

I am currently working on a Alu/Acryllic hybrid case, just need 7bit to give me the cad file for the pcb so I can get the measurements precise.

So, I've come to the following conclusions:
- I can't use C400 because my typical spacebar 'focus point' is right under the N key
- C600 might be doable, except I would want to use control where caps lock is.. and an off center caps lock kills that for me.

- I suppose I could use "hack", but then I lose the arrow keys, which I'd like to have.
- switches will be plate mount, which makes sense considering we're trying to be universal between all these layouts under once PCB. Unfortunately, this means you can't use a hybrid layout.(A board this universal with PCB mount doesn't really seem possible anyway though)
Is there a reason C600 has an off center caps lock? I know it's a bit late, but can we change that?

Also, I've been working on a couple of layouts of my own...
http://imgur.com/a/ra9TW
Null1
hack on the top, ansi on the bottom, plus arrow keys
- Unix layout
- normal 2.25 shift area. (split)
- split right shift (1x, 1.75) making way for arrow keys to the left.
Only thing I don't like is that it's missing an alt on the right. Maybe you could do a 5x spacebar and add a 1.25 alt to the right of Fun.
Null3
Similar spirit to C400/C600, but with normal spacebar and 1.25 modifies on the left.
- Unix layout
- 2x shift area similar to C400/C600
- unsplit shift. (1x as my primary shift seems like a bad idea to me)
- 6.25 spacebar
- lots of 1x key in the lower right corner, leaving lots of possibilities down there.

You need for ISOWIN:
2x STAB200
1x STAB625
So no stabilizers for tab, caps lock or backsopace?

[*] The will be a conventionally staggered version of the 7BIT-layout (similar to Phantom 7BIT).
[*] C600 can be equipped with center and off-center Caps Lock, or Control. The reason for the existence od off-center is only to be able to use existing Cherry keys.
[*] You can't have everything!
[*] Don't understand the last thing...

If you find a 5 units space bar, and if there are enough people who like it, the plates will be included to the grpup buy.
1.25 units modifiers are un-cool! Nevertheless, PCB-wise this would be possible.

You need for ISOWIN:
2x STAB200
1x STAB625
So no stabilizers for tab, caps lock or backsopace?
Tab and Caps: No.
Baeck Space: Yes, if it is 2 units wide.
Keys smaller than 1.75 units including, don't require a stabiliser.

So then according to this figure:
I see 2xSTAB200 for Return and Backspace, 1xSTAB625 for spacebar and, what for right shift?

So, you're saying that the C600 Plate as currently designed will support both centered and off-centered caps-lock?
Can you confirm?
Thanks

Yes.
FJ_Sanchez wrote:I see 2xSTAB200 for Return and Backspace, 1xSTAB625 for spacebar and, what for right shift?
So you need 3.
Sorry, but I'm not the stabiliser guy here. I'm using a Tipro at the moment with a 1.5 units key instead of the 4 units space bar and no other key requires a stabiliser.
To me, stabilisers are a symbol of decadence from a past epoch!

What does "SA-family" and "DCS only" stand for?

7bit was wrong, but you cant blame him. He is stabilizer-less keyboards biggest defender and doesn't have to care about stabs.
For HyperMini-ISOWIN you need 3x STAB200 (backspace, return and right shift) and 1x STAB625 (space)

Given what I'm learning with kormar's board I'd really stress that cases and plates are high on the list

board only has too much flex.

There were some fuss earlier in the thread about a symmetrical HyperMini. What do you think about this layout? keycaps could be tricky though, never seen an 2u row 3 or an 2.5u row 4

I am interested in a layout like the C600 or nullstring's null3. I have no preference so far for 1.25 or 1.5 modifiers, so I would choose what's most practical regarding keycaps.
I'd like to use my round4 kits for this board, but the 1-unit shift and "|\" (except for the alpha kit, which I didn't order

) would be missing. Would there be a special groupbuy for that ?
As regards the spacebar, will the C600 use the spacenew type from round4 ?
