Thanks for the more direct side-on shot.
This looks pretty good. Definitely better than DSA/SA.
If at all possible, I recommend making the ASDF and ZXCV rows slightly shorter, and maybe even making the number row slightly taller.

No worries. These things take time and this is a pretty sizeable undertaking.

Hey Matt3o, do you have an official name for this new keycap family you are creating?
And have you settled on which stem mounts you plan to support?
Posted: 21 Aug 2016, 07:39
by matt3o
mh, name... that is a good question, haven't thought about it. Suggestions?
Let's start with cherry MX for the mount and we'll proceed from there.

I predict the queue for this profile - once available - will quickly look like SA profile. Latest SA GB I've seen has a delivery date of Q2 2017...
Still über excited about this whole project. It really is time for a new, available profile.
Can we get IBM-beamspring mount, too?

SSH profile (Spherical Sculptured High profile) <- my favorite
Beamspring profile
OSA profile (Original SA profile)

I'm not especially fond of naming a keycap family the same as a switch mechanism; it is confusing and ambiguous. I also think abbreviation-names are kinda boring, though I admit they are easy to type.
How about a compromise like: Hi-Beam (whicn can also be thought of as an allusion to bright lights that blaze the trail ahead).
Something brief, memorable, easy to say and type, and trademarkable would be ideal.

I really like "SSH profile", but I have too much respect for the secure shell to actually use that name
I kinda agree with zslane regarding the name though, I probably prefer a short nice name to an acronym.

M3 profile ?
make it a little less obvious, we have to sell this to SP after all
But yeah credit where credit is due.
