I'd say at least 6 month, but I may be optimistic since there is a lot of packing work.
But the wiki says shipping should be in April or May already... So I suppose that was before the deadline got delayed so many times?
You have to count at least 2months for production, then the preparation of kits, invoices, the packing and the shipping.
And it wasn't delayed, it was a "rolling deadline" (©7bit)

Yes, you like literally killer-keyboards. It make me think about Cluedo : "I found it : it's 7bot in the hackerspace with an Hyper7" :D

What kind of keyboard is the Hyper 7 kit for? (If it's Hyper 7, what is a Hyper 7 keyboard and can you still buy them?)

UHHH I'M GONNA DO IT... Black/Red for my RK-9000R...

Welp, colour-coordinated RK-9000 is happening... awaiting my new invoice.

Yeah sphericals are slow. They have a lot of inertia, so they don't travel very quickly. But you can't beat the look and feel. :)

It is one of those keyboards you can order in the future Hyper keyboard group buy.

Oh you mean I should make up my mind about buying the hyper7 kit right now then?

My arse! Uh, I mean, it differs from person to person. I find these sphericals faster on MX reds than any other caps I have, because I make less errors with them.

But fully agreed they plain feel more compelling to type on, too. They encourage me to get on with work! Like my mad clicky IBMs.

But actually, simple harmonic motion would show you that the upstroke of a key is almost* one half of an oscillatory period, whose time increases with the half-power of mass.

Downstroke is different, because force applied varies with tactile response, so you might be correct! I'll do some napkin analysis on my lunch break and get back to you!

Had a sudden craving for more caps...

I sent in another order and got back a correct invoice. Before I pay it I just wanted to make sure it's still ok to add stuff with the rolling deadline and all :-)

Hey 7bit, is it possible, that you have forgotten that the 'Z' Key in the German layout (ISO QWERTZ) should be row 2?
Because the HONEY/DE kit has only a 'Y' in row 4 but no 'Z' in row 2...
And the HONEY/ALPHAINT has just the standard layout (Y and Z should be switched)...
Will there be a row 2 'Z'-Key in HONEY/DE as well?? Would be really bad for me if there is no row 2 'Z'...

You probably won't believe me at first, but it's actually true and the reason why there's no separate key: if you turn a centered SA row 4 "Z" key upside down (around the Z axis), what you get is a row 2 Z key. Row 2 and row 4 are the same profile, only turned by 180°.

Are you saying that I could turn any SA row 2 keycap into a row 4 and viceversa, only turning it around 180° !?!?

Mind expanding... Image

Sooo much possibilities for modding and mischief wasted on these Round  ... must wait for next one ... :evilgeek:

Yes, they use the same tools for these, just the legend will be turned around.

Yes, if you turn your V key around, you get row 2 Lamda! Isn't it great?

Hi -
Two questions:
Can I still place an order?

I have a KMC Poker 2. Which space bar do I order? If I chose individual spacebars.

I think it would be the 4 units one (3 plugs on the back, but I am not sure) I am at work so it's hard to confirm.

Thanks.

KBC Poker 2 is a 6.25x space bar with 1.25 mods. It's basically totally standard :)

I'm waiting for one more order and will prepare the order to be sent to SP tomorrow. I will do some fine tuning to reduce the amount of useless leftover key caps, caused by rounding up quantities for reasons of sanity. This will introduce some new kits which might be useful to some of you.
:o

I will also order some extra Standard, TKL and ALPHA kits to cover up some of the extras (language and POS, function etc. kits).

Long talk short: Tomorrow is the day when you have the last chance to order any kit from the pricelist. Once I closed up, you can only buy what is left over.

Well, if we hit 400% we unlock Alps, right?

QWERTY+Colemak differs from Workman by only 4 keys (BDLY), two of which are covered in Bepo (r2 BD), and one which you can do the 180° trick with (L r2->r4), though it'd look a bit funny. Still need an r3 Y, though. Dreams of a properly-labelled layout are dashed.

Wish I found out about the GB earlier, because a "Coleman" (Colemak+Workman) kit seems like a feasible small change, obviously not at this point though.

Last I saw (and I did the maths) we were only about 30 tkl sets away from 400%...

The ALPS key in FUNCTION2 hasn't been as popular as I'd have thought, are you getting any new orders for it?

Cap rotation is a great thing indeed. Even with leftovers you can do interesting things.

That's quite a mime act you're doing there. The whole 7 bit range of the emotional spectrum. Talent!

I'd like Coleman, too. But don't they always tell you not to relabel / rearrange your keyboard because Dvorak said so and screw those guys?
