Probably not worse than Cherry board with MY switches and lasered keycaps where modifiers have off-centered stems:

Hear hear! Lasered caps make a grumpy confection too. How are those good or interesting finds?

I say people have to start differentiating between old and new Cherry MY. The printing is another matter. I like my G81 1000 HBD. Not my favourite switch, but it's OK. I've experienced worse.

But how does it compare to typing on wet newspaper? That's MY's key spec right there.

Cherry G81 boards are MY. Also says "Modell MY" on the label.

Maybe you should jump aboard the Realforce Tour train?

Exactly. You'll learn something tangible. The trouble with things that "feel like Topre" to some people is they really don't. The best way to ground wishful thinking is with direct experiment!

I just got one of these. Mine has the "RET" and "ALPHA LOCK" instead of "RETURN" and "CAP LOCK" and the keycaps are more square. Pity... I like the rounded shape one better.

It is one hell of a nice looking computer. I wish the Amiga 500 looked like this.

What switch is in that sleek looking Memotech?

It's some unknown switch that looks a bit like Futaba. Here's a post by Mrinterface:

The feel isn't very good and the sliders snag easily. Apparently, they felt better when new. The way they snag reminds me of Cherry M7 switches, but this is even worse.

I must stay away from it, I still have to find a Cherry G80-2000 series. Luckily, the seller ships only in DE :P
