Just typing on it right now. Everything goes fine except I don't know how to upload new firmware on this board… Anyone know that ?

This is for faceW, is almost the same only a newer version http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=505 ... msg1256970
There was also another guide I have to look. if you figure it out please make a HOWTO :D
EDIT: This is the other guide, also for faceW but in theory is the same. same controller only newer version of the PCB http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=58945.0

Ok. I concrete to go in boot mode, flash firmware etc. Everything is fine except my right shift. I want a Fn key on the right and RSHIFT is not working, BUT Fn is working like a charm ;). I'll check with xev if something is catched.

For the software, all is ok pressing Q during few time really do the job.

Thanks for these links DanielT.

Strange, I have to get my PCB's and start playing... We will have to share all the stuff here, because there is not much info on faceU in English :D

Ok, I just tried a "beautiful" hack using a wire between holes and RSHIFT is working. So I think it's only the firmware. Now I have to find column and row for this key ;)

This needs to be documented :P
You are using a HHKB style layout ? Because this is what I want to do with both PCB's so I'm all ears :D

I sent a message to the maker (since I have the same problem), he said he forgot to put the wire to the 1800 shift. So we all have to wire the 1800 shift to the original shift. Sorry about that. :/

No problem :) The first one who does that should make a photo of the hack, this way we have it documented :D
L.E: looking at the PCB I think I see where the missing trace is:

Don't worry, is not a big deal ;) For me it's more fun when you have to tweak a little. I have all my soldering stuff ready :D

It's really simple doing it like I did. I took only 10s.
Here are the pictures.

I have a big right shift in my configuration and I want to map it as Fn key but xev still reports it right shift :O It looks like it's acting as a right shift and Fn at the same time!

Posted: 30 Aug 2014, 21:58
by MrMen
How do you remap this key ?

Here is my finish keyboard. I know that's a crappy case but it's all homemmade with " recup' " materials. Wainting for a real one.
