What are you guys rocking on your Novatouch boards?
I currently use a set of Korean keycaps (thick PBT) - here's a pic from the time I was transferring them from another CM Storm:
... but, I can't wait for the incoming HADapter kit from Wodan, to test how Topre switches like G80 Cherry Doubleshots!

Where did you get the GMK mods?
There was a guy on Ebay that was selling
these full White on Black GMK keysests, so I snagged one. It did not have any ISO keycaps, neither 1800 though.
Originative have a GB open now for another full set (that covers 1800 too - I want those 1800 WOB keys so bad

)
They also have black GMK spacebars for direct sale (+ a whole range of other colors)

Sweet -- good info man, thanks.

I apologize for not having a sexy photo, but I tossed a PuLSE Zambloos set on a NovaTouch in order to see how SA keycaps felt on Topre switches. The feel and sound of the downstroke is a real winner, but the noise of the upstroke not so much. Unfortunately, I don't have any of Hypersphere's silencing rings nor the desire to open up every single switch to install them. But that's okay because it would never become my daily driver in any case due to being a TKL.

Can I use WD40 for lubing sliders?

My understanding of WD-40 is that it is a solvent and cleaning agent rather than a lubricant. The "WD" stands for "water displacement".
For keyboard switches, I would recommend a synthetic oil such as Krytox or Superlube 51010 for lubing just the slider rails not the sliders themselves. You can also use a synthetic oil or grease for lubing friction points on keyboard stabilizers.

Guys, quick question - I'm buying Novatouch in ISO-QWERTZ Layout - is this going to work as ISO UK? I won't use original keycaps, will mount UK ones, but as hardware goes - it is ISO so will work with any layout, is that correct?
I wouldb e able to set it up as UK and it all going to work fine, right?

Yeah the Novatouch implements a standard ISO layout with a 1.25u bottom row, center stem capslock and 105 keys.
That's the layout today considered standard ISO. I have gotten UK ISO keyboars and fitted them with ISO-DE keycaps.

Cool, thank you for confirming this:)

I wonder if you can change firmware in keyboard, to make it UK permanently?

That's a setting in your OS. The keyboard does not know/care about UK or DE.

I just discovered this morning that the NovaTouch does not work through a KVM switch. Go figure. That makes two reasons the NT is useless to me.

Did you try messing with the USB speed setting and NKRO ?
Can't find the manual anywhere online but there should be a key to turn NKRO off.

Oh, I should have thought of that. I haven't read the user manual yet. I will try that tonight. Thanks for the suggestion!

I use a KVM switch all the time and the NT worked for me. I don't use the video component -- just the keyboard/mouse. I have an Iogear 4-port KVM connected to a powered USB hub and 3 computers.

The Quickstart Guide says nothing about how to turn off NKRO. Do we know if that is even possible?

So I've concluded that there is no way to turn off the NKRO emulation. However, I was able to resolve this by plugging the NovaTouch into one of the rear USB ports of my KVM switch.
It appears that the dedicated kbd port of the switch does some sort of internal magic to try and track the state of the lock keys (and maybe other voodoo I'm not aware of as well) which is incompatible with the NovaTouch firmware. This is not too surprising given that it is also incompatible with the firmware in my Varmilo VA108 keyboards which also emulate NKRO.

In another CM Storm manual (for a different keyboard), switching between 6KRO and NKRO was done using something like this: FN + 6 + ESC for 6kro, FN + n + ESC for nkro. In *another* manual, the combinations are: FN + n + DEL, respectively FN + n + INS. I can't test now, my Novatouch is at work.

I hope that's true

I was also thinking about getting a barebones one since I have two keysets. But the thing is that nt is TKL, which is not good for a traveller like me

So how can I tell what mode the keyboard is actually in? How can I tell if any of those FN+ sequences actually had any effect?

I did silence mode on my Novatouch, using dental bands - now it feels awesome:)
Sound is like a dimmed knocking sound, I love it:)
Not that I needed it, I thought original sound was ok, but wanted to see what peeps are talking about.
Is it worth it? I would say yes. It's not noisy as it was, apart of sound it doesn't do anything else to it.
