Sorry for taking this long. We are very close. We now need to lock on the parts we need to order and we will start collecting money for switches and Phantom orders.

When and how should I pay the switches I ordered in this groupbuy?

You will get email about when and how to pay, as long as you included your email address in your order.

If you only buy switches and no key caps, it is not so expensive ..

BTW:
This ends at 31 January 2012!!!!!!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'll ask anyway.

I need switches. But, I don't know if I ever need to mount them PCB or Plate. No idea what the difference is. But I need switches for my prototype ASAP, and these aren't so costly that I would regret it. Or would I regret it after all? I don't know how easy it is to get Cherry switches you see. All I know is that I need some (probably only 40 or so) ASAP. Mounting for now is not a concern because in the prototype they will be mounted in...
Spoiler:

Should I order some here?

PCB-mountable switches have little nubs on the underside to hold them better in place. If the holes for the nubs are not present on a PCB (because they are not necessary as the switches are mounted on a plate asbove the PCB) then the nubs must be removed, or you need to take switches where these nubs are not present at all.

You can also order PCB-mountable switches at Mouser (at a higher price than in this group buy).

When I'm home you will receive a message of what you've ordered.

You need to submit your e-mail address to Phantom (just the address in asingle line, nothing else).

Re-sent, too. Do you have everything now? Is there any way of checking without bugging you? :)

I don't think it's very clear in the OP how you're supposed to order... I assume your e-mail address as the subject line, and the message's body, say:

MXCLEAR 100
MXRED 25

Hmm?

Posted: 30 Jan 2012, 19:42
by Donbabbeo
@Keymonger: no, the content of the message should be:

MXCLEAR 100
MXRED 25

email@whatever.xxx

Man, was just about to order some but I saw some pics of the switch in question and I'm having second thoughts (even though I'm familiar with the switches in question, obviously)... maybe I need scissor switches. But where could I possible buy those? Good quality scissor switches also, which are even more rare.

Meh. Ordered some. I obviously can't think like this... I need those switches first. Maybe some special keycaps too but I can cop those from some other keyboard.

Dammit, 7bit be a bit more clear next time, or I should learn how to read and shut up in my PMs ;)
Sent phantom three PMs, and I guess the third one is correct... I hope!

Too damn used to write an essay to someone regarding something...

No problem with the payment, you can pay later.

Also, the switch group buy will be a few days longer than the Phantom group buy.
