200 x100 EURO = 20.000 EURO !
That's ALL you should have told them !!
Why The F%ยค# do you go saying minimum order is 400 sets if they never said that ???

Hmn, ok. So maybe they have a better volume pricing. I inquired for 100 set and it was nearly double the cost.

Want to make GB for this ivan? I'd rather have a set of these then GMK tbh. Also would be nice to flood the market desko RGBs :D

I wouldn't mind helping with North American distribution if someone else wants to head it up, but I am not ready to take point on another buy right now.
For these I would like to see that multicolor legend EU parliment set, and might as well go for RGB.

Do you mean this? If so, it is a great idea :D

Yes that set. Just have the one set with keys for both ANSI and ISO, 1.5 and 1.25 modifiers sizes, and stepped and non stepped caps lock. I think it would satisy most people and keep things simple.

And the desko RGB. Perfect I'd say. Then people could just mix it up with whatever cherry caps they like :D

The case is now in the hands of the managing director. Let's see where this gets us.

Something that would be great would be to run a group buy only for 1.5x mods for those of us who've bought the Cherry replica PBT dyesub sets and have no matching bottom row (hi lysol)! :)
Maybe this is something we could run together with another larger group buy?

Shame about the ISO enter though, would've been great to be able to use a Cherry PBT replica set on the one ISO keyboard I'm actually using. :<

Does anyone have a G8x-1800 right shift they want to donate?

Posted: 21 Feb 2013, 23:33

Donate, no. Keep in it's ziplock never to be used, yes.

Come on people, someone has to have a PBT lasered right shift they're willing to donate now to get replaced with a dyesub one in the future!

I probably do, I'll check when I get home. Beige or black or doesn't it matter?

Black would be POM wouldn't it? I think they only need PBT (white lasered).

Oh, not sure about that...I think I have one in almost every other flavour, just not white lasered :(. I'll check anyway, my caps draw throws up the odd suprise every now and then. Is there a reason it needs to be that specific key?

They would need it for moulding purposes.

What would be truly great :
Finding a supplier who can get it ALL right, in ONE production-run !!

IMO :
Let's put some effort into fulfilling our own 'selfish' ISO/Euro-needs ..
The Yanks are doing just fine ordering whatever for their own needs,
why don't we just do the same here ?

Their numbers allow us to hit lower price points?

Posted: 22 Feb 2013, 19:14

I don't actually care at all what legends are on sets as long as it looks good and interesting I will buy it. I am sure there are some more like me that will help you in numbers aspect. Just as long as you do include those 3 ANSI keys, and it dosen't really matter what is on the 1.5 Dprofile key, just use whatever is on the corresponding key to the left of enter on Cprofile row.
Part of what I like about that EU parliament set. It just looks pretty and doesn't exactly correspond to any specific standard nationalized layout so it doesn't really matter ISO vs. ANSI it works just fine.

I'm sorry for sucking at updating this with the info I get.

They've contacted Cherry (ZF) and their mould makers (Which is why they would need the right 1800 shift).

I only have 1.75 RShift ABS doubleshot from G80-1800. I guess this one isn't useful since they need PBT.

Still looking for a PBT one.

Cherry has a lead time from 6 months to a year for spare caps so they will check with the mould makers. The dude I'm in contact with is in England for the rest of the week so we should have a quote on the moulds by the end of next week.

It would help a lot if you found out what the MOQ to pricing situation is. The result might motivate Korea and US (ansi buyers) to unite for a higher MOQ thus lowering the price point. Anyways keeping my eye on this thread. Can't wait for update :)

The price of each set is almost double if you order 100 vs 400.
