thank for your feedback. I find #54514A too light, but I might lighten up a little the current color.
as I said, every time you have to open to user submission it becomes a pain to deal with moderation and spammers and I don't have much time to dedicate to the project... sooo... time will tell

Good to see user accounts implemented now. This site's really moving along. I was just drafting up an entry for Round 4 SPH when I realised I need to host the images some place. A nice feature would be a way to save a draft, so you can come back when your pictures are done.

yep, I will add drafts in the user's profile.

Thanks.
I think my contribution to Keypuller will be a whole bunch of cap pictures, all shot on the same keyboard on the same desk! Um, for consistency's sake…
Note to self: need more keyboards.

I've added a "list view" where it should be easier to browse long list of keycaps from (when we will have long lists...

)
http://keypuller.com/archive/
PS: and it's even mobile compatible

(quite a challenge actually)

Regarding profiles, mainly in SA, there are some variations among the sets that it would be nice to know (all R3, R3+R2, R1+R2+R3+R4).
Thanks for all your works matt3o!

you are right, that's quite an important piece of information. It would probably go in the description, though. I'm getting very little support from GB organizers, so I have to harvest all the info from the kilometric IC/GB threads. It's quite time consuming.

I'm leaving R4 and R5 to the end... for clear reasons

Can you put up the "official" sets, like the filco SA and Topre HiPro, or are there some restrictions?

no, no restrictions. We actually already added a ducky set.

I finally added the option to like a keycap set. Anonymous users can vote, but cannot un-vote.
Now back to data entry.

Ah, I remember being part way through submitting Round 4 SPH to Keypuller but then stopping. I realised, too late, that you don't host your own images. And Flickr etc. are all on my malignant scowling list because of every bad experience I've had with them. Would self hosting jpegs push the bills too high?

I'm self hosting all images now, but I still have to update the "contribute" page. I will make keycaps submittion way easier/faster

Phew. Glad to hear it! I'll get some submissions in. (If not today, which is pouring with rain as usual…)

I used the Deskthority wiki to store my images. If it fits keypuller it fits the wiki as well, doesn't it?

I believe so.

I was wondering why you'd put images on the wiki and not actually bothered to do anything with them.

Free image hosting for all! (Quick, add compulsory watermarks and invasive video ads. We're getting into the .jpeg business!)

I was thinking about adding some pages for them, but I didn't because... time, as usual.

Are the image URLs even stable?

Keypuller has a twitter account
https://twitter.com/keypuller
All new keycaps are automatically pushed to the twitter feed. Also, I'll try to post some news every now and then.
I've also added a "twitter card" for keypuller, every time you link a keyset you get a fancy output with an image preview. Example:

Will you open source the actual website/server side code?
Posted: 12 Oct 2014, 16:25
by matt3o
yeah I could, but it's not easy to replicate the environment, I should make a quick tutorial and I doubt there's really an interest (or anyone would actually help with the development)

I started collecting some statistics for the keycaps

I will be adding more in the future as soon as we get more data

Most likes ever: Granite!
Is it possible or maybe in the future or maybe already to add colors and varieties of novelty keycaps? For example not to have "Skull Click Clack" in all but single Clacks and its special color? Problem then will be that there are for example 40 different keycap sets, and 300 different novelty keys? There is
a list in the abandoned GH Wiki, but i think little bit old, boring images, etc.
