7bit must be in the same category as an OEM with them at this point.
I just need some time before i can get in on Round5a

facetsesame wrote: Good news, everyone! Soon the tidal wave of Round 5 will be up on us. The pretty plastic keycaps will engulf your keyboards, your home, and your very soul. And it'll make great photographs.
SP will be making the Out of the Vault SA keys soon (I'm very curious to see how glow in the dark legends on blue polycarbonate turn out), beyond that there should be some gap until they get going with 1976. I will be optimistic!
Given the choice I would have gone with gloss keys to start with, though I know they're not available in many sizes and the tooling costs are prohibitive. Anyone going to step up and offer a pre-shine service?
What's this 1976 of which you speak? Our original shipping estimate?

An all row 3 SA-profile PMK-set, originating from GH, that is currently in the IC phase at PMK. Got quite some votes, so will probably go live soon...
EDIT: corrected erroneous info

I think he was making a rather clever joke there.
Also, 1976 is uniform Row 3 profile.

I don't like that color scheme at all!
At least the lightblue bites the rest. Nothing against the Gulf-design (917 and GT40), but the other colors don't fit at all!

Oooh… ouch, that green really sucks!
I don't routinely check PMK for two reasons. First: NO MORE KEYCAPS, DO NOT NEED, ESPECIALLY BEFORE ROUND 5. Second: Christ, look at who's skipping ahead of us in the queue now…

Haha, well, too clever for me! Sorry for the erroneous info...

I propose this oclor scheme for Round 6:

It's based on an art print by Tycho/Scott Hansen at ISO50.
This particular artist does a lot of "retro" 70's style work. The style probably isn't for everyone, but at 197 votes it's pretty popular and will certainly be produced.

I've heard of Tycho before. (And the other one. Aaand the original.) But that aquamarine just isn't doing it for me. The other shades are nice, though.
The GB's graphics seem to be confused about the font. There can be only one!

And then there are my own ideas for SA group buys! I'm a bit scared to talk about them until Round 5 production is over.
SL89, I'm waiting to pay my current instalment, did you really want to do a part trade or should I just send the USD?

Does anyone know when/if Signature Plastics will be getting the mould for SA family Row 4 shift keys? (preferably including ISO 1.25u sized as well)
Edit: Nevermind, emailed them and the reply said they don't have a date for when they will be available.

Thanks for that! I wonder if they have a 10u space bar, probably not.
I also wonder what the date will be for the row 3 1.5u double stepped key

Imagine how many options could be readily included in a row 3 SA set...

There are not so many missing keys anymore!
Missing are:
1.25 units in rows 1 and 2 (=4)
1.5 units hat caps in all rows
2.25 units in row 4
2.75 units in row 4
5.5, 6 and 10 units space bars ...

Well, row 3 is just a cheat, or perhaps a legitimate different project entirely.
Thanks again to your instigation and building in of tooling costs. Cheers 7bit!
SP ought to order the row 4 keys themselves as they've said. Hopefully they will confirm their plans in time.
As for the double stepped hat caps, don't you mean missing all sizes in all rows? Think of jpatters!
p.s.
Spoiler:
did you know there seems to be all the keys to cover an ANSI MX 11800 available in SS Family?
Now I'll be offline for a while again, hope you appreciate it!

No, I only mean 1.5 units. There will be no 1.25 or 1.75 keys of this shape!
Also: It is the only one I still want to have for myself, the others, I don't care!

I completed the payment but now I got a new invoice that says "Amount Due 1.17".
Will I get the caps or do I need to pay more now?

No problem!
I think it is because the exchange rate changed while you paid.

Just had an e-mail from SP about the SA "Out Of The Vault Round 2" buy, including the following:
Melissa wrote:We are targeting a ship date around the end of February.
That's a while to make not quite so many keys. Could this mean they're busy with the rest of Round 5, and could it mean they'll have shipped it by then?

Excuse my ignorance, I am yet to read all 220+ pages in this thread But from my understanding, seeing that it's been almost a year since Round 5 was ordered and that members are yet to receive their keycaps, I get the impression that SP seems to prioritize vendors and PMK over GB organizers. Is that a correct observation, as in, is it likely that I'll have to wait for about a year if I join Round 5a?

Welcome jip
Jump back a few pages, 7bit intends to put Round5a through as a PMK (total order for all x1 bought to him), he commented it may even arrive before the rest of Round5... that was the last I heard anyway, the $0 of my advice may go down as well as up

Yes, your impression is right, but the next time I will make fire under their asses
to speed production up by 15%!!!!!!!!!!

Round 5 must be massive ( shame i missed it ) it will be a huge order for them , not on the level of some OEM but significant enough that they should do it with the same priority as everything else . I don't remember round 4 taking this long

OEM orders are lame! Maybe they order a few more than me, but usually a quite boring set of 104 or 105 keys.
