Not that this is useful for anybody else, but I'm almost tempted to get this IBM PC Jr keyboard on my local classifieds just to experience what a monstrocity it is.

On a side note, just looked at the wiki and saw that the PC Jr keyboards were manufactured in Canada. I'd like to apologize on behalf of my nation.

Telex keyboard. No idea what switches it has, but its keycaps appear to be PBT.

Maxi Switch rubber dome. I have one very similar at home and was disappointed to find this out the hard way.

Missing a key. If someone here wins it, PM me for a replacement.

What a shame about the Telex. Those keycaps are too beautiful for such an awful switch.

At least they're MX mount, could be worse.

Those are nice caps, they're MX compatible, right ? how are the big caps stabilized ?
Posted: 28 Nov 2015, 22:54
by guk
IIrc, the stabilizers are held by little hooks which unfortunately are part of the keycaps. Similar to newer MY only cheaper even.

5 hours to go.
58 keys keyboard from the eighties.
I'd get this if it had a key left to the spacebar.

Strange, it seems to work now. Probably something weird on my end.
That looks like a very interesting little board. Great layout!

Wow that is some amazingly cheap international shipping. Only $10 from Germany to the US. I'll leave it for the EU people though.

I'd be all over that if it was in North America. I don't have a Motorola 6809 based computer yet.

Here's some more I've been meaning to post:
LEDs look like they might have Cherry.
QUANTEL ASSY 2001-16-005:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331713353388
Don't have any idea what switches and way too expensive but interesting nonetheless.
Gilbarco Industrial Keyboard:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/250955810875
Seller sent me a picture, looks like a magnetic switch of some kind.
ABEKAS A51:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141722085953
I think this might have Cherry MX Blacks but I'm not positive.
Editware DPE-500:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181920103443
LEDs on this one don't match up to any common switches so I'm not sure.

1. has Cherry M8
2. ITW Magnetiv Valve, low profile
3. No clue, show pic maybe?
4. I think those are hybrids, MX for the two rows on the top with relegendable keycaps, rest is MY. (e.g. G80-8308)
5. Omron B3G-S

Anyone seen an M2 recently? Always wanted to give one a go.

Plenty in the U.S., but no ANSI ones in the EU.

I've got an ISO M2 but I need to repair it after an ebayer destroyed half of the switches. Just got new springs in today.

3. I'll post it later when I'm at a PC.
4. The Editware I just bought was MX black for the whole board with MX linear gray modifiers and spacebar. That's why I don't know for sure what this particular Editware would have.
Edit: seller added picture of the label since my post, definitely MY.

Destroyed buckling springs? Takes a lot, even with an
M2.
Same model for the Editware? Because apart from the similarities to the 8308, it looks suspiciously like a grey MY plate.
Ok, thanks for your edit. Now tell the sad story of the M2.

Those keycaps are very interesting. Are they really double-shot PBT? And spherical?! I'm very tempted to get some and try them out, but the shipping is ridiculous.

by Blaise170
I sold my M2, buyer kept getting frustrated because this or that wasn't right, took it apart and tried "fixing" it and broke several of the springs and several are bent in such a way that they don't click the way that they should. Then returned it to me because it wasn't working properly after he broke it. But it's whatever, I'll just fix it and keep it and not try to sell it again I guess.
My Editware is a VPE instead of DPE so that might be an indication of switch differences for future reference.
That Abekas has these switches, anyone know what they are?
