I think 300ish is doable, but more than will be challenging. I would target for 300 sets with a fallback price for the 200 mark.

Since I got a question about this on PM

Sometimes I think how bad it is that we need to put so much effort and money to get a good set of Cherry keycaps, while Unicomp is offering pbt dye subs in almost any language for just 25$.

Let's just go back to buckling springs!

Or just buy a moulding machine and start making Cherry -> BS adapters.

Maybe that could be made on 3d printing, but would it actually work? BS keycaps are all the same profile on any row.

Even DSA are the same profile

Simply make 4 different adapter shapes.

I guess that could work and it would be worth trying - too bad I know nothing about 3d printing.

Anyway, I just wanted to point out a simple argument. What can you buy for 25$? Maybe a vintage double shot set, if you're lucky - and chances are, you would still need a moogle kit. A brand new pbt dye sub set? No way, not even for double that price. And yet Unicomp is doing that for BS. Why are they so cheap? Are they poorly made? Do they sell millions of them? Do they manufacture them in some asian sweatshop? I don't think so. So, hell, any manufacturer of MX keycaps is just spoiling us.
Edit: posted from my SSK with unicomp keycaps.

So are there any updates? I've been monitoring this thread every day lol

Well, I got a mail yesterday saying he got back to the office and had received the 1.75 shift and we should get a quote on the moulding this week.

Rodtang I would appreciate if you could talk with
DrugER about what he's planning to do because I don't see any reason to split the interest in different GB. For me it's obvious he is talking about
BSP Europe because of the missing spacebar in the sets.
[IC]Cherry DYE-SUB key set

You already contacted them and provided them with keys to make new molds so I wouldn't like this new IC to make useless your effort...also I don't understand why they offer now G80-1800 layout for modifiers if they weren't capable until you sent them the RShift 1.75
If he isn't talking about BSP Europe then forgot about this

They still don't offer 1.75 shift, I'm still waiting on the quote that should come tomorrow.
They are saying they can do 1.5 bottom row in both row A and B (Row A is what is used in G8x-1000 and winkeyless Gx-3000 'boards while row B (1.5)is used in winkeyless G8x-1800 (and the bottom row on modern 'boards are row B))

Price seem high for 6 key RGB set, and on high side for 100 set too. Not sure if it's a groupbuy or preorder at retail price.

For $140 (10-20 more than what they estimate) you can get two ANSI sets at the same amount of orders (2x200).
EDIT: Wait, I keep forgetting about fucking VAT... It should be two sets for $45 more (which is quite a bit more than 10...)

did you ask if you can combine different layouts to reach 400 moq (300 ansi +100 iso de ...)
you can't really compare it to double shot injection molding
other rules for pricing might be applied...

No, I did not, I can do that though.

Can you also get a definite answer regarding price for one set if 400 MOQ is reached?

(€21.820,00 + VAT + €603,10 (project setup fee) + shipping)/400 = Price for each set

I should probably have asked this before I replied to the email, we need the universal 6.25 spacebar but do we also need the 7 wide one? (I said we only needed the 6.25 one)

I think there are quite a few people who're using 7x spacebars, so I think it'd be great if it was possible to buy those too.
I'd want one at least! :>

I would include both 6.25 and 7 by default in every set along with both 1.25 and 1.5 mod sizes. Take out the guess work with 1 set, 1 price.

With 1.5x mods you also need 1x mods...

From my understanding they don't have the molds to make space bars, win key mods, and 1800 right shift.
The group buy over at Korean forums has already begun for a 100 ANSI winkeyless set without a space bar. They skipped the space bar in order to speed up the process. They're also offering a separate RGB set. So far I think it's exclusive to Korea only.

The link(s) guilleguillaume, mintberryminuscrunch and m_enanos are the same people, seems they have/are planning two GBs...
Anyone starting limited groupbuys where they don't give a shit about non-ANSI people (and in this case don't even care to try to get spacebars) can honestly go fuck themselves.

Is that kind of language really necessary? I do not represent the Koreans by any means but just because they're doing a exclusive speed run doesn't mean they should go "fuck themselves." I did say it was Korea exclusive after all. But since they are ahead in the group buy stage they have set pricing which could shed some light into how much you guys can expect as well depending on what their MOQ was. My guess is 200.

Got a quote on moulds for 1.75x right shift, ISO enter, center stem caps lock and 6.25 universal spacebar.
140 000 DKK, that is just under 18800 euros, looks like we'll need a lot of fucking orders to make the prices not suck...
