my video reviews & intro

Hiya guys, pleased to meet you all.

In lieu of an intro post, I figured I'd do it like this instead. My name's Thomas, I live in the UK, and I've been doing several video reviews of mechanical keyboards. I prefer vintage boards (I like the simple aesthetics and sturdy look and feel of old boards compared to high-contrast black, backlit and modern designs) and am especially fond of Alps switches and buckling springs.

I've posted these videos already on GH, where I joined a while ago. I joined DT not too long ago to get a classifieds on a Focus keyboard, but this seems like a nice community so I figured it wouldn't hurt to share them here as well :) . I aim to post one every other week, using the time between to properly test each one. Here's the playlist with them:

Hope you guys like them! :)

Nice, I quite enjoyed that. I've got two Dell AT102Ws here, both quite old and worn, both salvaged from a skip at a University, and both quite poor-feeling. I wonder if the NIB versions feel better.

Alps keyboards are notorious for being affected quite badly when dirty. Nonetheless, the keyfeel of the newer Black Alps in the Dell AT101W is quite unclean and rough and not all that representative of other Alps switches.

If you want to see if it would've been better otherwise, I made a video tutorial a while ago on how to clean out Alps switches:

I was thinking of re-doing that video at some point actually because it's fairly short compared to my other reviews and there's more stuff I want to say in it.

I've watched a lot youtube videos about mechanical keyboards, your channel is another great addition. I subscribed to it now.
If only webwit will make youtube videos of his great keyboard collection, I would actually watch it even pay per view!

Are you describing pay per view keyboard porn?

Not really just to see how webwit will actually DO a video review of his keyboard collection. It would be interesting to know what keyboard he'll choose first among his vast collection.
