Hello DeskThority,

PietPtr and I are thinking of running a GB for a 58-key version of the Ergodox.

So basicly it is the ErgoDox without the 1u thumb cluster key and the bottom row. He has an album ready with how it should look since he has build one for himself already.

This group buy will be for a kit containing the following:

- An acrylic case and plate
- Nuts and bolts to secure the case
- 2 Arduino Pro Micros, optionally with firmware already flashed on them.
- Male and female headers for the Pro Micros
- A cable to connect the two halves
- Rubber feet
- 100 Diodes

What you'd need to buy yourself if you decide you want to build it on your own:

- 58 Cherry MX compatible switches
- Wires
- Solder

We will also be able to build the board for you, but that will be more expensive.

Let us know what you think of this in the Google form at the top of the post, all feedback is appreciated.

Cheers

Additonal notes:
- shipping from the Netherlands

Where are you shipping from? If outside Europe, many people here need to know about it. Affects costs enormously.

Also: edit your thread title. Right now this is an interest check for null!

Edit: Much better!

Sorry about that, it is coming from the Netherlands and I put in the title this time. I can't believe I forgot that ...

Looks interesting. But whats about the price? WIll it be (not including switches/caps) around 100Euro? (normal/falbatech around 110Euro)

Why not building it "infinite"? (so add backlight? ;) )

The price as a kit shouldn't be that high, so far we have enough people entering that we could probably be under the 100$ mark.

Well, it is all handwired so a PCB isn't available to place LEDs, if there would be a lot of intrest in that then we could defiantly look into making one for a future GB but that is all speculation and depended on how much intrest is for this one :D

Hand- wirong means.I have to handwire it :o

sounds dangerous.

Probably about 20$ to 30$ more than the kit. We are looking into PCBs due to popular demand and I would love to make the PCBs compatible with case lighting!
