Hi all,

I'm looking to spruce up my ergodox with SA profile keycaps. I currently use it with DSA keycaps, MX clear switches, and dvorak layout. I just ordered MX browns (clears are too stiff for me) and I'm now looking to get an SA set (the retro SA set looks really nice, but it's been dead for a year: <https://ctrlalt.io/buys/sa-retro>) since DSAs feel too flat (even when the keyboard is raised).

I know there are some keycaps left from round 6, but the leftover colors are not what I'm looking for and there are no dvorak alphas anywhere to be found. I was wondering if there was a group buy anywhere that I'm not aware of that is either happening or is going to happen soon-ish! Also, what's the best way to keep track of new group buys in this forum?

Not a group buy, but you might look at modern selectric. You can get the base from clueboard.io at https://shop.clueboard.co/Modern-Select ... e-Set.html. Then get the dvorak from pimpmykeyboard.com at http://pimpmykeyboard.com/sa-modern-selectric-keyset/.

We're in between SA group buys at the moment. I think Nantucket Selectric was the last one to go up but it is long since closed. Signature Plastics is going to be busy for many months manufacturing SA keycaps for group buys that were conducted over the last six months.

I'm not sure which SA group buy is up next, but your best bet is to check in at MassDrop every week to see if anything new is running there. You can also check here in the Marketplace section and in the Interest Check and Group Buy sections over at Geekhack.org. Pretty much any SA set going up for a run will be announced in all these places.

Good choice, just got my Troubled Mind Colmak set on my infinity ergodox. Sculpted SA approaches end game.

If you like SA retro then there's also SA chocolatier started at GH w/c is happening at MD. Don't know when that would start though, but poll is up with that one.

Thanks! The Jukebox's colors don't quite match my desk colors! I'm excited for choclatier, although penumbra's solarized is also nice! Most likely gonna sign up for the white chocolate, though!

I'm not sure any desk matches Jukebox. Unless your desk is the counter at the Peach Pit.

There are a lot of cap designs that look similar to Solarized, but I don't think any of them have gotten anywhere near production.

SA Dasher & Dancer is in MassDrop's hands, but they aren't pushing too hard to get it on SP's schedule. Someday...

Has Yanbo had anything to say about that? Perhaps you can reach out to him directly? Or have you already done so?

Yes, Yanbo is my contact over there. Originally it looked like it might be a Sep/Oct timeframe. Then I contacted him again a couple of weeks ago and he said they might try to get it on the schedule around Christmas (MassDrop seems to have a more, um, flexible interpretation of the set's name than I do, but better late than never I figure).

But even that sounded extremely tentative, which makes me feel that the set isn't that much of a priority with MassDrop. For instance, it would appear that Amazing Chocolatier is getting in the queue way ahead of Dasher/Dancer, despite still being in development while Dasher/Dancer was done and in MassDrop's hands.

Make of that what you will.

They may be looking at the comparative votes in the polls. I think your set was probably underserved in not having its own poll, as the chocolatier one has. And, looking at the results of that poll, you have 20 votes. Perhaps if you started your own poll, and could show the interest levels for this set alone?

I didn't think a poll was necessary once it was in MassDrop's hands. Marketing and advertising is not my forte. I'm just the designer.

Oh, I'm not sure either. But they have said they look at the polls and the numbers in deciding what to drop, so I figured I'd at least point that out.

Dasher/Dancer + Christmas would present great success for everyone involved. Chocolate, on the other hand...Halloween!

Im far more excited about Dasher/Dancer than the Chocolate set. I'll see what the deal is with them moving it around.

None that I'm aware of. When it comes to SA keysets, MassDrop (and 7bit) will be keeping Signature Plastics busy for the rest of the year, at least.
