I bought these locally just to try out the switch types (only tried MX and Gateron Switches before) and I really enjoy the feeling of those, especially the Model F.

Unfortunately the task of restoring them to their old glory seems a bit overwhelming for me, but I'm considering it as a long-time project.

Very nice! That beamspring looks pretty clean, too. :D

It's dirtier than it looks at first glance, check out how dirty some of the caps are (for example the "4" and "7" key)

The work isn't in the dirty caps though, but the rust inside.

The two first beamspring bigfoots we've seen both found within about a week of each other! Blimey.

I'm getting a feeling "Beamfoot" is not so rare after all.

I love the keytops on the beamspring. Any chance you could pull a few keytops and show us the switch and quality of the tops? :)

Yeah, those beautiful sphericals put those fugly cylindricals on the Model F to shame. IBM really took a leap into the aesthetic abyss when they abandoned sphericals.

Clean the slider and spring, it would be better than before.

Interesting you say you prefer the typing feel of the F. From what I've gathered most people prefer beam springs.

I have to say I prefer Model F as well, when the contamination shield is still on the keyboard. But when taking it off, it's a another keyboard, it feels really different, and much better. Maybe still on par for me, both feel very good.

Very dirty and should have a lot of clean work to do...
I'm wondering why Q and W didn't get yellow.
