I broke the pm system, maybe?

I am on thr iPad, and I replied to a msg from someone. Then I inserted a smiley from the iPad keyboard. It came back with General Error, and several lines of SQL code. This can be reproduced. Hope I did not permanently break anything.

It's probably because your iPad is using emojis which the PM system can't handle. I'll try sending you an emoji smiley face to test this hypothesis.
