Replace USB with PS/2

Where do I start?
To cut to the chase I want to hack my Filco 10keyless and permanently replace the USB cable with a PS/2 cord I have laying around.
I don't want to hear any humdrum about "whats the point" or "that's stupid just use an adapter" or any other blah blah. I am sick of the big extendy purple dongle that is a PS/2 to USB adapter; it keeps coming out but straight PS/2 cords fit nice and snug. So, I just want to know how I can do it so I don't permanently shag my Filco ltd edition tenkeyless MX Red.
Suggestions appreciated. For those that are interested I'll photograph and post the surgery as it progresses.
Thanks.
