Using a type f terminal keyboard on an XT (5160)

I have and IBM 122 type f with a 240 degree din-5 on the end of a fixed cable.
I want to use this on an XT (5160) which has a standard din-5.
I am not looking for ps\2 or usb as I am more than happy with my current usb keyboard.
This is simply to be able to run a 122 on my xt.
Is this as simple as a plug swap making the correct connections?

Unfortunately no, the protocol is different. You will likely have to build your own converter, as I'm not aware of any converter that outputs XT scancodes.

Something like this might do the trick (if the F122 doesn't have an AT/XT switch)

Guessing the dip switches on teh bottom did not help in this use situation? That would be a drag to have to convert from XT to AT then back from AT to XT. That is potentially $80-$100 in converters.

You can wire a Soarer's keyboard converter, then a USB to XT converter from any source. As far as you DIY them, the process is quite cheap.
