Getting paranoid...

My girlfriend seems to be watching a lot of TV programmes about compulsive hoarders recently.
I'm really hoping she's not thinking of getting me professional help. I don't fancy being in tears on TV just because I have to throw away a keyboard...
So, I'm making sure that they fit as neatly as possible in the cupboard.
Trying to avoid something like this.

Much like an alcoholic who puts whisky in their coffee to try and disguise their problem? I think you need unprofessional help, and I’m willing to supply it, free of charge. My (un)qualified diagnosis is this: you have a problem with hoarding. A serious problem. Your only sane remedy is to send all of your keyboards, bar your favourite one, to me. You need to do this immediately, for the sake of both your mind and your relationship. It will be hard to adapt at first, but you *will* thank me later.

so, paranoia or are you wanting help?
Compulsive hoarding does sound quite like a sign of the (my) times.. don't know how many programs on that exist, but does sound confronting

If it's just one program she's been following- well that's tv, it tries to hook you to shows (and commercials). If it's more than one, she might be either interested in seeking out help for you, or simply trying to get into your mindset w.r.t. wtf you are doing with all them keyboards

Though the seeking help part gets more likely when the show(s) steer towards that, since, well 'programming' and such.
Keep in mind, as long as you are okay with it, it's only a matter of getting others to either respect/acknowledge that or actually understand or even join in on it. You first though.
Ofcourse, stating the obvious, but thought you might like some of that atm.
I'm off, good luck with wifey/addiction/collecting!
*edit, you'll need to send your favourite board to me though; just to be sure of a full cure.

I told my boss today that I'm into keyboards. I got a look that must be identical to the one I used to give HAM guys.

Get nice boxes and stack them neatly in your garage. It's only hording if its messy.

I'm feeling a bit emotional with all the offers of 'help'...
My immediate co workers know I collect 'boards - they think I'm a loon...

I'm not sure how serious you are about this but if you're actually worried consider the following: What negative consequences does your hobby have on your life?
If the list is too long and you're still doing maybe you should worry.
I doubt that it is, though. :p

Cheer up.
Woke up this morning. Momma cooked a breakfast with no hog.
This is your typical American's AM.

There is a big difference between a collector and a hoarder.
