Oxidation on fly spring in beamspring switch.

Hello! I've recently started restoring an 5251 beamspring. When I disassembled the switch there was some amount of, what it seems to be, oxidation on the fly spring.

Spoiler:

Comparing it to another known good switch I must say that they feel identical, maybe a little bit stiffer but I could be wrong.

Does anyone knows if this may bring some troubles in the future? is there a way to eliminate this corrosion or at least stop it?

Thanks!

It didn’t come by Dresden, did it? That corrosion reminds me of one I had via the infamous Dresden Rustmeister:

Halp!

The switch innards were just as bad, as I recall.

Khers managed to clean his up nicely, though.

It did not, found it in Argentina. What did you do to remove the corrosion of the fly spring?

I sold it to Seebart! Looked way beyond my abilities, and Cindy had sourced me a clean one in the meantime. I don’t know if he ever restored it.

Khers did, though. Ask him.
