I want to use a teensy 2.0 with soarer's code to make an SSK that I will finaly get my hands on USB and hardware dvorak. That part is faily strait forward. But what I also want to do is to turn it into a Sun type 3 (HHKB) layout like this
http://geekhack.org/attachment.php?atta ... 1320600118. Is there any way I could do this with soarer's code?
Any help would be good, Thanks guys.

Would love to help, but I really don't get your question... b'sides, neither have I ever looked at Soarer's code.
So what key do you hold for the blue chars?

Without even looking at what you want to do I'm going to say yes because that's how awesome Soarer's firmware is. Now let me take a look at what you're trying to do...okay can't link doesn't work and a simple search on gh didn't yield anything useful.

It's the same when I click on the link.

Nicked it and uploaded here, hope "theferenc" doesn't mind. It is only from his for sale thread.

Hm...can't really figure out from the picture what you're trying to do but if it is just layering stuff then yes, Soarer's code has splendid support for that.

It's not. Look at the top line where backspace normaly is. There is membrane traces that send a different signal than the rest.

Maybe this picture makes it more clear.

Hm afaict that should only be simple remaps. How do you activate those blue functions anyway?
Posted: 11 Jun 2012, 15:07
by fossala
I don't want those blue functions. That just happends to be the only SSK I know of that has been "software" converted into a Unix (sun (HHKB)) layout.

Hm...well you can remap keys and you can also create macros if you want some shifted key. I don't have a sun type 3 or hhkb but if you tell me what specifically you're worried about I will simply try.

I will wait till I get the board and the teensy get it soldered up and then see if problems arrise. I just wanted a guess if I could get it to work before I import a teensy from the US.

For the record, I've bought my Teensy++ in the Netherlands from
http://www.pieterfloris.nl/shop/categor ... ategory=45. Got them a few weeks later in a bubble-wrap mailer.

No problem, assuming that key sends the same scancode as the corresponding key on a 101 (or in fact any other scancode that is mapped to a HID code), which it probably does. Or I can easily add a mapping. On a 101-key its code is 6A, which is mapped to INTERNATIONAL_3. Pretty sure it will be the same on an SSK.
Someone asked me about bépo the other day - now that would be a challenge!! (But still just about possible, maybe, sort of...)

Just ordered mine from PJRC. It was 14gbp including shipping compared to 18gbp from the nethalands. Should be here in 1-3 weeks.

What would be best. Do the hardware mod the use XEV or something to check the scancodes? Then rig it up with a teensy with the right firmware?

Heeeey, you're from around these here parts! Always figured you were from the US; biased I guess. So, COMING?
A few weeks does sound bad though, but when I found that site a while ago I w
as glad to find that there was in fact a source based in NL.
On topic, still not sure what it is you are trying to do/figure out...
Esc remap, ez; backspace remap, ez; ...?

Just hook it up with my firmware and use hid_listen to check on the scancodes
In fact I'm very sure it will be 6A - it's the Yen symbol for Japanese keyboards

First time I have played with hardware like this. Other than flashing an XBOX 360 disc drive.

They arrive pretty quickly actually, since they are cheap enough to sidestep customs! Maybe a week or so

Supposedly, but actually just to nab your boards.
Basically just interesting, nothing more; perhaps visualising that
awesome people live everywhere, so there's no need for racism and other biased bs. Not that I've come across any on these here parts, but.. *sigh*
@soarer, you don't want to *hear* most Dutchies pronounce it, really. Really.

I was at work couple of days ago and a member of staff (not my department) was saying that she hates gays and coloured people. I was livid. Not that I am either, just grow the fuck up!

Amen.
My post was a tad misplaced, seeing how I do come across that stuff quite often in Dota2; mostly people bitching about having Russians on their team.. Although there is some merit to that, same as with Germans and Polish peoples at times; the refusal to talk in a language the other players understand. Trying hard not to come off as racist myself, yet those are the only languages I've come across that just send one to three general chat messages in english and for the rest return to spamming their own language; intense dislike for that, yet, forcing everyone to adopt english is probably a bit of a dick move on my/our parts as well.
*edit: Trying hard to disguise my racism basically. My bad, see next page.
